That's why I'm so grateful to have joined @sgvHabitat as we broke ground in Altadena at the site the Wood family will once again get to call home. I’ll keep fighting for federal relief so every survivor gets the support they deserve.

Republicans already cut $1 TRILLION from Medicaid—the backbone of community health centers. Now they’re shutting down the government because they refuse to extend ACA tax credits. That means 61,000 people in CA-28 will see their premiums soar by up to 75%. Every part of our health care system—clinics, hospitals, prescriptions, insurance—is under attack because Trump & Republicans would rather cut taxes for billionaires.

I was honored to join the @NFYInstitute and the @DodgersFdn for their Foster Care Mental Health & Housing Symposium! Listening to the voices of foster youth and advocates is essential to shaping policies that meet their needs, and I'll keep working to expand foster care benefits, increase access to housing in LA County, and ensure that every young person has the support necessary to thrive.

This year’s Veterans Forum was a powerful reminder of the strength of our San Gabriel Valley Veterans community. For 15 years, we’ve hosted this event to honor service and connect Veterans with the resources they deserve. I’m grateful to partner with @RepGilCisneros as we continue this vital work together.

This morning, I hosted a Veterans Forum with @RepJudyChu to help connect veterans to necessary resources. We assisted with their casework needs and facilitated productive conversations on how we can better serve our veterans in Congress.

Last week, I loved celebrating #NationalNightOut in Monterey Park, Rosemead, Temple City, and San Gabriel! I’m deeply grateful to our first responders for their service, dedication, and tireless work to keep our communities safe.

Today on #PurpleHeartDay, I’m thinking of our nation’s wounded Veterans and the incredible organizations like @HeroesProjectUS that empower them every step of the way. I was proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of their new retreat center just a few weeks ago. Let’s keep showing up for our Veterans not just today, but every day.

I’m proud to have secured $1.5 million in federal community project funding to build outdoor patios that keep our Pasadena restaurants thriving. These spaces will bring our community together for years to come!

I proudly secured $1 million in federal community project funding for Maryvale, a safe haven for single mothers and their children in the San Gabriel Valley. This investment will help ensure that no child in our community goes to bed hungry or without a roof over their head.

The Eaton Fire destroyed the only post office in Altadena. In May, I sent a letter to USPS urging them to reopen a new post office for the community. I’m thankful to USPS, the Altadena Town Council, and Websters Pharmacy, for making this happen. pasadenanow.com/main/altadena-…
