@SeaSickMutant This is wild but I go on FB Marketplace in that area all the time. There was one seller I interacted with from that town who had tons of overpriced listings. One quick conversation and I moved on as it’s his business. Wouldn’t you know they have the same last name as this.

Time for clarification: I've done a decent deal with this guy in the past. We are both fair. That is why he came to me. I got a decent deal from a $/card standpoint. I paid $29 a slab and the raw stuff tossed in pretty much. The original stuff I had picked out was 21 cards for $1,015 and all of that had recent comps and we were both cool with. Then he asked if i wanted the whole case. I said screw it, lets do it. Here is where the problem arose for me. 21 of the 109 slabs had comps and 88 have virtually nothing. Now, while that is not a bad thing, just makes things harder to move sometimes. Last night I was able to move half of the stuff that did not half comps, so that is a good thing. A ton of that was way below $20 though. I might break even, I might not. A lot of it will go up for auction on ebay and is what it is. I'll stick to what I know now. Always a learning experience....

It will never not be astonishing watching these little pieces of cardboard memories from our childhood sell at these prices. Not a judgement only an observation. Collect what you collect. For the reason(s) that you want. No motive is purer than another.

This week has been really hard. Lots of things added up to make it harder. Struggling with depression, but I know I’ve got to just keep grinding for things to start getting better. There’s so little breathing room that every setback feels impossible.
