In February 1918, when the Zeppelin raids on London began, air raids were still something of a novelty and people had to find refuge where they could. William Nicholson's painting is of the ballroom at the Piccadilly Hotel, one of the first steel-framed buildings in London.

It's taken 105 years but the Football Association has at last apologised for barring women’s teams from all FA grounds from 1921 to 1971. Last week a film about the Manchester Corinthians - a women’s team that achieved huge success, despite the ban, premiered at the Manchester Film Festival, and a campaign by the Manchester Evening News led to the @FA apology. The FA said: ”We are sorry that a ban on women’s football was introduced in 1921 and not revoked until 1971. We recognise the courage of the teams and individuals who continued to play the game during this period.” We hope it won’t take as long for the FA and other sport’s governing bodies to apologise for allowing males to self-identify into women’s teams…

@Mr_Husky1 You know the answer. You don’t need strangers on X to tell you. It’s horrible to cancel a wedding. But it’s 100 times worse to have to extricate yourself from a marriage - and to lose much of your inheritance as well.

Sick and tired of these cretins who say they don’t believe the M&S changing room images are recent. Here is a vid taken today at Shoreham M&S that proves they have a dedicated Men’s fitting room but no dedicated Women’s one (proof of date at end of vid). @MForstater @SexMattersOrg

“Jacob is an ethical man and a highly experienced clinician-scientist with an admirable career record… It is a matter of deep regret that any dedicated scientist should have their actions politicised in the way that has happened recently in the media,” Tallon said.

The MHRA has published an email sent to all staff by its CEO, concerning the Pathways puberty blocker trial. Lawrence Tallon states his support for Prof Jacob George, who recused himself from any involvement in the trial over social media posts made before he joined the agency.

“‘Pregnant women’ is not a fringe or controversial term. TfL should end its insulting pandering to gender activists and return to accurate, everyday, sex-based language.” @HJoyceGender on Transport for London refusing to mention “women” in its “babies on board” badge update.
The Telegraph@Telegraph

🍼 Critics have said TfL is ‘pandering to gender activists’ after press release about its “babies on board” badge calls pregnant women ‘expectants’ and ‘parents’. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/2…

“It’s devastating that Girlguiding has decided to comply with the law” I think it’s devastating that an MP is describing compliance (albeit a bit slow) as weaponisation. Worse yet is an MP suggesting that the government produce guidance which contradicts the law
Nadia Whittome MP@NadiaWhittomeMP

It’s devastating that Girlguiding has announced plans to exclude existing trans girl guides from September. The Supreme Court ruling is being weaponised to bully previously inclusive organisations into abandoning members of their own community. The government must ensure that the statutory guidance enables organisations to be inclusive and protects them from expensive anti-trans lawfare.
