"I believe that district was a 50-50 split then, and that's been a few years ago. The population has declined in that congressional district," Ledbetter said. "So, yeah, I think with the right candidate and the funding, it's certainly possible." He is right. Justice Alito made clear that election deadlines cannot become a safe harbor for unconstitutional maps. Georgia’s current congressional map depends on a VRA theory the Supreme Court has now rejected, and state leaders have not only the authority but the obligation to correct it. The Constitution comes first. Georgia must conduct congressional elections under a lawful map, not simply the map that happens to be in place when primary voting began. Georgia should not allow the liberal Supreme Court judges procedural delay to dictate their representation for an entire Congress. SUSPEND THE PRIMARY AND REDRAW THE MAP!
