As we brace for Tropical Storm #Ophelia the Northeast Boundary Tunnel stands ready to help reduce overflows to the Anacostia River and mitigate neighborhood flooding. It can hold up to 90M gallons of stormwater and sewage.

I am following up on yesterday’s devastating floods to question various agencies. We must now contend with more severe weather due to climate change, but that doesn’t excuse our city from taking meaningful steps to keep residents safe. I sent the following letter to DC Water:


Although many anti-home-rule amendments were included in the text of the DC appropriations bill released today, I will do everything in my power to defeat them. The text included many DC victories, including $40m for DCTAG, a program created by a bill I authored.
