@delbigtree Roundup is not a pesticide. It's an herbicide. Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup.

What is happening right now with Bayer and Monsanto at the Supreme Court is the same story we have been telling about vaccines for twenty years, and it is playing out again in real time. They are losing billions in lawsuits because their pesticides are causing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. So instead of making a safer product, they are asking the government for liability protection. And our own Department of Justice is helping them make that case. This is exactly what happened with vaccines. The manufacturers were losing money over death and injury. The government didn't say go back and fix it. They said we will protect you. And now an entire generation of children is living with the consequences of that decision, with no legal recourse for their families. I trust Bobby Kennedy and the work he is doing, but we are watching complications inside this administration and I think people need to pay attention to this one. I can't imagine anyone walking down the street wants to give pesticide companies a free ride when their product is causing cancer and poisoning our children.

@MarkJCarney I feel compelled at this point to interject that the ONLY reason you are even here today is because your predecessor screwed up so badly that he had to prorogue parliament to escape the rampant scandals sinking your government. No one “gave” you anything. You took it.

Liberal MP Melanie Joly says ridings that don't vote Liberal will not receive any federal funding. Federal funding is our tax dollars which Liberals say they will withhold unless you vote for them. How is that not extortion?

I don't accept the criticism coming from hard partisans of Mark Carney. I repeat: the United States has threatened to invade Canada multiple times over the last year. And they are currently waging an economic war against Canadians that is costing us jobs. Canada is currently in the middle of the worst crisis facing the worst threats we ever have since World War 2. If this isn't a time to put aside our differences and start working together with our political enemies for the best interests of Canada, my God, you need your head examined. Wake up.

Were Canada to ban floor crossing, we would be suppressing the individual minds of those we elect, and further concentrating power in party leaders. As things stand now, floor crossing protects independence and keeps pressure on leaders to treat their colleagues well lest they watch those colleagues head elsewhere. Floor crossing – and the threat of it – protects us from a system where those we elect turn into mindless drones serving nothing more than the centralized will of ‘the leader.’

Break their trust. Mock their outrage. Watch them disengage. Notice the pattern?

This is what winning looks like. Politics isn' t a charity but about coalition building. The fact that Carney was able to entice a hard core Conservative tells you exactly where the momentum is. If people prefer purity, there’s always the NDP, a party that will never win an election, much like what the CPC is increasingly being reduced to.
