@adamndsmith Taxation is theft, but of course the envy cult to which you belong,is always looking for some moral reason to take other people’s shit.
English

It’s on every £100 between £100k and £125k, not "every £100 you earn", but Matt wouldn’t say that because then it wouldn’t enrage people as much
Matt Goodwin@GoodwinMJ
An insane statistic from the UK: If you are a "high earner" on £100,000 - £125,000, you only get to keep £38 of every £100 you earn -The Telegraph
English

@lewis_goodall Regardless woether your are left wing or liberal, the truth is all taxation is theft, you seem to be arguing about how you would like to be robbed? On your death or through your life.
English

@DeborahMeaden But of course a citizen privately praying near an abortion clinic can get you arrested in UK. That’s ok, but if you use a student visa to go into another country a try and undermine their government that should be protected. Your moral compass is on the fritz my dear.

@nickrolfe64 I'm not a rev but I am an atheist, so I don't give a flying fook.

Today a long-time friend of mine (a retired police officer) posted on Facebook a picture of him besuited with a #ReformUK rosette, he’d registered as a local council candidate. I politely said ‘goodbye’, and he’s gone… He crossed my red line, I think that’s reasonable…do you?
English

@bbcnickrobinson @elonmusk Forced to pay licence fee by government whether you watch it or not, linked to criminal charges… sorry it is “literally” government funded. Take away the legal protections and then maybe you can argue it’s paid freely.
English

That is “literally” not true. The BBC is funded by millions of people paying a licence fee. “BBC Media Action” is a charity which supports local media around the world to fight disinformation which is quite a big problem these days. Don’t you agree ? @elonmusk
Elon Musk@elonmusk
BBC is literally state-funded media

You have to remember inflation is the symptom of money printing and a government overspending so in a way inflation is a self checking system on government overspending. If inflation goes to high people complain, but here is the caveat. There is a way for government to sidestep the limitation..taxes. So the government is forced to increase taxes to remove money from supply to keep inflation in check will they overspend. So you as the individual get hit with higher taxes and inflation a double whammy and guess what happens when inflation goes down? The taxes stay high. So more money for the government…the government wins again and just keeps getting bigger.
English

@AdamJSchwarz Rants about threats to Democracy and then spends his way life trying to undo democratic result.
English

Your a missing the point. As a company it was cheaper to subscribe to some software then build in house. But there was always a problem in that the you sacrifice the flexibility in your workflow for the cost savings in software. That barrier goes away with AI. You can have the best brand in the world but if someone can do something in house for cheaper and with more flexibility you going to lose customers.
English

@datarade Nah, their moat is their brand, customer relationships, referal network, domain authority, historical Google data, etc
Otherwise any kid with Ruby on Rails could have ‘eaten’ them ages ago.
English

AI is about to eat every indefensible CRUD app. And almost no one sees it coming.
ServiceTitan: $9.5B valuation $TTAN
~$700M+ ARR
~12,000 customers
>110% NRR
But here's the thing: they're ultimately well-executed CRUD applications with no moat for plumbers, HVAC, lawncare, etc.....
Let me show you something wild.

The Prime Minister should make a statement to Parliament, immediately, to confirm whether UK missiles have been fired into Russia.
He must tell the British public if this means we are now at war with a nuclear power, what risk this poses to people in Britain, and why this action was taken without any approval from Parliament.
I have consistently condemned Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and called for a diplomatic solution to stop the endless bloodshed.
As we edge closer and closer to catastrophe, we should be doing everything in our power to bring about de-escalation and peace. Instead, our political leaders have added fuel to the fire and gambled with people’s lives for political gain.
Presidents and Prime Ministers must know that in the event of nuclear war, nobody wins.
I’m not interested in bombs. I’m interested in peace – and I will continue to campaign for peace in Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, the DRC and beyond.

So you’re telling me that:
- Income Tax
- National Insurance Contributions
- Corporation Tax
- Capital Gains Tax
- Council Tax
- Value Added Tax
- Excise Duty
- Fuel Duty
- Stamp Duty Land Tax
- Air Passenger Duty
- Insurance Premium Tax
- Green Taxes (Includes levies on energy bills or vehicle emissions, like road tax).
- Gambling Taxes
- Plastic Bag Charges
- Carbon Emissions Levy (embedded in energy costs for businesses and indirectly passed to consumers)
- Landfill Tax (paid by waste management companies but often reflected in local authority charges)
- Television Licence Fee
- Congestion Charges
- Soft Drinks Industry Levy
Isn’t enough to fund public schools, public services, roads, etc? They also have to apply a death tax and charge your kids on money you’ve already paid tax on? 🤡🌍

Seeing a lot of “Why shouldn’t #Farmers have to pay #InheritanceTax like the rest of us?”
But the real question is “Why should anyone have to pay inheritance tax at all?”
People are so used to being robbed they don’t even see it happening.
English

@carryonkeith Your asking the wrong question…Why should anybody be paying inheritance tax at all…
English

@terrychristian First off, current taxation is theft, secondly explain to me like I am 10 why we should pay any tax on inheritance.
English

Poor bloke - Farm worth 12 million quid and so will pay £600,000 inheritance tax but can do it over ten years - imagine how we'd all struggle inheriting on 11.4 million quid . Should do a Go Fund Me page . I don't know how I'll sleep worrying about them paying a share ( fair share 40% of everything)
No Farmers, No Food@NoFarmsNoFoods
“I feel like I've worked all my life and everything I've ever earned is going to go on tax.” This farmer in East Yorkshire could be left paying a £600,000 inheritance tax bill under the Labour government's new farming farm tax rules.
