@percysnoodle @amyruthworrall I often use this technique, by sorting the mutations by descending index. I dread of the day I’ll actually have to solve the problem.

@amyruthworrall Are they allowed to overlap? If not, you could apply them in reverse order of starting index, so they shouldn’t change indices for future mutations.

Compsci friends: is there an algorithm for applying multiple mutations to a string? Eg remove characters 4-7, insert “xxx” at position 8, etc.
Tricky bit is once you’ve removed characters 4-7, the position you’re inserting at has changed.
