Today we’re excited to announce two major additions to Knock in-app messaging: in-app messaging components and in-app message types (BYO UI to Knock.)
With these releases you can power all of your in-app messaging—transactional, product announcements, lifecycle—through Knock in a performant, native way.
Here’s more on what we’re releasing today 👇

My favorite Eric Adams story is this one from Curbed where they tried to prove he actually lived in NYC by staking out his house for a week.
He came home twice, parked in front of a garage, and when he left, there was traffic, so he drove on the sidewalk.

As an Underhill Ave resident I’d be devastated if these two programs were cancelled. I love open streets and the Underhill redesign. Plz don’t do this @NYCMayor @NYCMayorsOffice @NYCComptroller
Second Ave. Sagas@2AvSagas
Eric Adams had a closed-door meeting with opponents of @vanderbiltbk open streets and the Underhill bike boulevard. He’s having an RSVP-only meeting about this on Monday. I expect he’s gearing up to kill these two forward-looking and successful street use programs.

"I didn't have time to make a short video, so I made a long one instead." - Mark Twain, (maybe)...
Anyone who's produced technical content knows how tough it is to be concise.
Every new term or abstraction is a potential rabbit hole.
Will my audience understand the difference between a query and a transaction?
Do they know all these service acronyms?
B2B marketers are saying short video is the future.
But how do you create content for a technical audience that isn't cringe or full of hype?
Content that actually educates and builds trust?
We're too early in this trend to have all the answers, but letting the engineer tell their story seems like the best bet we can make.
Obsess over the technical problem like it's a plot: what are the stakes, the status quo, the resolution?
And then rewrite it until you can say it in 60 seconds.
Will this authentic story beat a video with fancy editing and slick transitions?
I'm not sure yet.
But after watching our content, the viewer will have learned something technical that might save them some pain someday.
From my perspective, that's a win.

Here's me talking about a fun little performance tuning problem I got to dig into at work a couple months ago 🤓
Knock@knocklabs
💾@ceskavich hacked our Postgres driver to get us better visibility into expensive transactions in RDS. A few months ago, we started to see increased database pressure but found that RDS Performance Insights didn’t give us the granularity we needed to address the issue. Here's how we solved it.
