It’s an interesting hypothesis, but it suffers from a wrong assumption: that Scandinavian society is as fascinated and open-minded about UFOs as the United States. In reality, this is one of the most secularised parts of the world, and one where folklore does not include UFOs. Our media hardly cover the subject at all -- most people here wouldn’t even know what happened in New Jersey. As is well known, interpretations are shaped by cultural background: here, most would simply call a flying polar bear in a party suit "a helicopter".
