Doctors received offers for Radiology training posts at around 3-4pm. They were able to accept these offers on Oriel and received confirmation of acceptance. Offers then began to disappear on Oriel. At 6:30pm they received this email. Simply unacceptable.

I have joined a Facebook group called ‘Rate My Hospital Plate’. It is truly shocking what some hospitals in the NHS deem healthy nutritious food. Nutrition is such an important part of health and vital to ‘getting better’.. @jamieoliver @wesstreeting

Up to 82% of pregnant surgeons experience miscarriage, preterm delivery, and intrauterine growth restriction. Occupational hazards, including prolonged standing, physical exertion, overnight shifts, and teratogenic exposure, contribute to these risks. ja.ma/4eUXVQn

As final year med students preference jobs, a reminder that #Excel is a powerful tool that you can use to help automate the ranking process. Instead of doing all of the work, get Excel to do 90%, and you do the remaining 10%. Here I ranked my partner's jobs in under an hour🧵

To all consultants who have PAs/MAPs working in your dept If your PAs are doing the same work as your Foundation doctors, then 1 of the following must be true 1. Your PAs are working out of scope at the level of a doctor 2. You are not using your FYs appropriately

@UKFPO seems to conduct unevidenced practices whilst ignoring consultations of relevant stakeholders starting with the story of the flawed SJT to removal of intercalation points to now the randomisation of entire foundation process including SFP. Randomisation offers nothing and does not remove inequalities whilst the system does not uplift those from poorer backgrounds to say, intercalate and publish through more bursaries/less predatory loans etc. It disincentivises those who work hard for deciles, intercalation, papers and other points. The hard working student will now be demotivated whilst the poorer student will not be uplifted all whilst being forced to move to a random part of the country. Nobody wins. @BMAstudents @BMA_JuniorDocs

We fundamentally disagree with the decision by the UK Health bodies to move the Specialised Foundation Programme into the PIA system from 2025 and will fight for students by resisting this change in any way that we can. Read the full statement 👇bma.org.uk/news-and-opini…

Competition for both training posts and locally employed SHO posts seems to be rapidly climbing, and locum market is dead. Are we at the point where doctors might start becoming unemployed?
