As the Giants will continue with OTA’s later this week, their wide receiver situation continues to have question marks surrounding it. Malik Nabers continues to rehab and recover from ACL surgery and it’s not certain he’ll be ready for Week 1 in September. Darius Slayton is not expected to be ready until training camp. The rest of the WR room is a bit unproven and has a lot of uncertainty surrounding it. We’ve mentioned a few possibilities for options for the Giants to consider. Odell Beckham Jr. has been the most talked about option, but he still remains unsigned and hasn’t played since the end of the 2024 season. Brandon Aiyuk was mentioned as an option, but he has an expensive contract and some consider him a negative influence given his situation with the 49ers. There’s also Stefon Diggs, but he’s fresh off being released by the Patriots, has a lot of outside baggage and probably will be expensive to sign. So throwing out another veteran option who is still currently a free agent: DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is 33 and hasn’t quite been the same receiver who was consistently putting up 1,000 yard seasons. He’s been on 3 different teams since the 2024 season with the Titans, Chiefs and most recently in 2025, the Ravens. Hopkins is another former John Harbaugh player, although, Hopkins wasn’t nearly used as much in Baltimore like some had thought. Although in 2024 while in Kansas City (with now Giants OC Matt Nagy as the then-Chiefs OC), Hopkins got used more in the offense and saw double the targets. If the Giants are worried about Nabers’ knee going into the season and don’t fully trust Beckham to be a productive player at this point, but would still like to bring in a dependable and useful veteran, maybe someone like Hopkins; who only cost Baltimore $5M last year, could be someone to look at for the Giants.
