@FrshBakedDisney this stuff in florida summer is an absolute nightmare. they were very deliberate in constructing a land that had better shade, particularly in the marketplace area

On the one hand...what a terrible decision to ignore the original trilogy. But on the other hand...I don't think I'd want a desert themed land. All sun. No trees. No shade. Dirt and rock everywhere. Batuu is actually a fairly nice blend of environments. It just needed the OT.

Former Walt Disney World VP Dan Cockerell on who killed the Tatooine-Themed Star Wars land: "We got a call one day. They said, ‘Well, we got some news for you all.’ And the Imagineering guys, they’ve heard this line many, many times during their careers. And I had never been through this.” "They said, ‘Well, yesterday Bob Iger met with Kathleen Kennedy, who as a lot people may know was sort of George Lucas’ protégé and headed up Lucasfilm. And they had a conversation. They had a meeting. And Kathleen Kennedy, her point of view was, there are way more Disney Star Wars stories ahead of us than behind us. So we really should think about do we want to build a Tatooine, and build what all the fifty-somethings remember Star Wars is or do we want to build something else which is going to appeal to all the upcoming generations who are going to know the new stories.' And that day Tatooine was killed at the Studios. And all of those concepts were put on a shelf and I’m sure they are sitting in a vault, and I’m sure they’re going be shown someday about what that land looked like and what the attractions were going to be." How disastrous was this decision?

The city shouldn’t encourage people to be assholes, regardless of income. I don’t think we should pay for someone to park in a crosswalk or a bus stop just because they are low-income.

And today, we have a report quoting anonymous Democrats “giddy” about the immense pain they’re causing, talking about inflicting even more because they think Trump will cave/get the blame for their shutdown.
Michele Tafoya@Michele_Tafoya

Strong piece from @KimStrassel: “This week made vividly clear—if it weren’t already—that the Democrats’ DHS shutdown is unrelated to DHS policy. All those unpaid Transportation Security Administration officers are hostage to pure anti-Trump rage, and they’ll be released only on pain of political fallout.” wsj.com/opinion/white-…

I genuinely wonder if most Americans realize that these long lines at the airports are because Democrats refuse to fund DHS?

🚨#BREAKING: ABSOLUTE PANDAMONIUM at the New Orleans airport this morning where the TSA security line stretched... ...ALL THE WAY OUT INTO THE PARKING GARAGE!!!! WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS JUST TO GET ON AN AIRPLANE!!!!

My initial reaction to Trump’s post was negative. We all know the rule to not speak ill of the recently departed. But on a moment’s reflection, I changed my mind. Mueller betrayed the nation and never repented. His “investigation” did more to further Putin’s strategic goal of dividing the American people than Putin could have ever dreamed. Mueller did everything in his power to overturn an election. History should remember him as a villain.
MAZE@mazemoore

Frankly, after seeing Trump’s post about Mueller, I’m a little disappointed. I wish he were meaner, more vindictive, and would hit back harder at the people who framed him for treason, divided this country, and tried to throw him in prison. Democrats are already promising that if they get back in power, they will find ways to prosecute members of this administration. They are so lucky that Trump is not nearly as evil as they are.

ICE is already funded. They know this. This is all performative where this guy and his party admitted that their goal is "to hurt people" over it. "Were shutting down DHS and clogging airports" "Why?" "Because ICE is deporting people" This is basically the entire Democratic Party on whole all sitting and blocking a freeway.
Chris Murphy 🟧@ChrisMurphyCT

This is the only thing you need to know. Democrats want to open TSA. Republicans are refusing because they want to attach ICE funding. That’s why there are long lines. ICE.

As a former founder, it astounds me how far the Democrats have run away from tech, innovation, and economic growth. It was under Obama that QSBS status was created to incentivize small businesses to start up, grow, and get acquired.
Justin Slaughter@JBSDC

This bad proposal won’t pass (it’s not actually backed by the leadership that makes Albany run, the famous 3 men in a room), but I think folks in startup spaces haven’t internalized that many Dems really do want fewer startups, especially in tech.

Trump did not ask much from our allies before launching Operation Epic Fury. He didn’t ask them to join U.S. pilots in combat in the skies over Iran. All he asked was for Europe to hold America’s coat as we defeat an enemy that threatens us all. Now he’s asking for help in a discrete mission: preventing Iran from cutting off the Strait of Hormuz. Our allies need oil from the Persian Gulf more than America does, and they should be cooperating with the U.S. to reopen the strait as soon as possible. Florida gained over $20 billion in income from 2022-2023 while California lost over $11 billion If you somehow needed more examples of why Ron DeSantis is the best, most successful politician in the country and Gavin Newsom is the worst, here you go
Stephen Moore@StephenMoore

New IRS domestic migration data shows tens of billions of dollars continuing to move into low-tax states.  From 2022 to 2023, the largest net income gains came at the expense of high-tax states losing residents, income, and opportunity.  Americans are voting with their feet!

Journos overwhelmingly support this shutdown, want ICE defunded, and support Ossoff’s reelection. They treat Dem shutdowns differently because they are Dems.
Brad Todd@BradOnMessage

Who's going to stick a mic in Jon Ossoff's face and make him defend what he's doing to Georgians in this airport? Or are we gonna interview the people in line & ask if they are mad at Ossoff? Or are we not doing that in this particular shutdown, unlike the prior ones?
