how to run claude code with gemma 4 completely free (beginner's guide):
this guide shows you how to use claude code completely free with gemma 4, no subscriptions &no api keys.
just your laptop + 15 mins setup.
this lets you run open-source models (like google’s gemma) locally, meaning:
— no costs
— full privacy
what you need before starting, make sure you have:
vs code installed
— node.js (version 18+)
— stable internet (for one-time model download)
_____________
step 1: install ollama (the engine)
ollama is what runs ai models locally on your machine.
→ mac:
go to ollama.com/download
click download for mac, open the file and install like any normal app. no terminal needed.
→ windows:
go to ollama.com/download, click download and install
→ linux:
curl -fsSL ollama.com/install.sh | sh
check it worked:
ollama --version
_____________
step 2: download gemma 4
this is the ai model you’ll run locally, pick based on your system:
→ low-end (8gb ram):
ollama pull gemma4:e2b
→ recommended (16gb ram):
ollama pull gemma4:e4b
→ high-end (32gb ram):
ollama pull gemma4:26b
⚠️ it’s a big download (7gb–18gb), so give it time.
after download is completed, verify with the command:
ollama list
_____________
step 3: install claude code in VS code or any other IDE
this is your interface.
— open vs code
— press ctrl + shift + x
— search claude code
install the one by anthropic
after install → you’ll see a ⚡ icon in sidebar
_____________
step 4: connect claude code to ollama
by default, claude connects to the cloud. we’re redirecting it to your local machine.
so do this:
— press ctrl + shift + p
— search: open user settings (json)
— then paste this inside:
"claude-code.env": {
"ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL": "http://localhost:11434",
"ANTHROPIC_API_KEY": "",
"ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN": "ollama"
}
what this does:
— it routes everything to your local ollama server.
— nothing leaves your device.
_____________
step 5: run everything
1. start ollama with this command:
ollama serve
leave this running.
2. open claude code in vs code
click ⚡ icon
3. select your model
type:
gemma4:e4b
(or whichever you downloaded)
you’re done
_____________
you now have:
— claude code running
— powered by gemma 4
— fully local
completely free
try:
“explain this file”
“write a function”
“refactor this code”
_____________
common issues (quick fixes)
“unable to connect”
run:
ollama serve
asked to sign in
your json config is wrong
check for missing commas/brackets
very slow responses
your model is too big
switch to:
gemma4:e2b
model not found
run:
ollama list
copy exact name
quick recap
you just built:
a free claude setup
powered by local ai
no api costs

@ChennaiIPL Please show some intent to win. We don't need you to win all games. Show intent. No positive environment in the team... Very worst to play and lose both experienced players at top.. losing both early puts all other youngster to stress pressure..

@prasannalara It is very very important to play with thinking of winning even though if impossible. That's what lagging in this csk team for last few years. Very very indigestible... Face of fleming itself is not positive. No communication on ground... Very worst

In Kerala, apparently you can now call a coconut harvester the same way you book a cab.
A uniformed professional arrives on a cycle, equipped, trained, and ready to work.
We often speak about India’s services economy in terms of IT exports or global capability centres.
But we’re digitising even our most traditional, hyper-local services.
There was another detail from this video that stayed with me.
The young man who climbed those trees was from Chhattisgarh.
When I began my career in our Group’s steel business, many of of our associates working in our furnace and foundry shops had come from states like Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, travelling far from home in search of opportunity.
Today, it seems those same aspirations are finding avenues not just in heavy industry, as in the past, but in new-age, tech-enabled services.
People moving, adapting and rising are a powerful economic force.
And also a force for integration.
As long as they’re welcomed by the host states!

Raising a baby in India costs more than most people admit.
Here’s a real breakdown for urban parents in the first 3 years:
Diapers and wipes:
₹35,000 to ₹70,000 over 2–2.5 years
(5 diapers/day × 900 days = 4,500 diapers
At ₹8–₹15 per diaper, the math lands here)
Vaccinations and pediatric visits:
₹50,000 to ₹80,000 in early years
(Depends on private hospital + optional vaccines)
Baby food and formula:
₹60,000 to ₹1.2 lakh
(Higher if formula-heavy or premium brands)
Clothing, gear, essentials:
₹60,000 to ₹1.5 lakh
(Clothes, crib, carrier, toys, etc.)
Hospital delivery:
₹50,000 to ₹2.5 lakh
(Private hospitals in urban India)
And this is before daycare, preschool, and that random late-night purchase.
A broader estimate suggests raising a child in India costs ₹30 lakh to ₹1.2 crore by age 18.
For metro families, you’re much closer to ₹1 crore than you think.
Indian parents today are spending more on their children than any generation before.
Always bullish for this category. 🚀

Nano Banana Pro & Nano Banana 2

🚨 Someone just turned your WiFi router into a full-body surveillance system.
No cameras. No wearables. No video. Just radio waves.
It's called RuView. It uses the WiFi signals already in your room to detect human poses, track breathing, measure heart rate, and see through walls.
Not a concept. Not a research paper. Working code you can run right now.
Here's what this thing actually does:
→ Tracks full 17-point body pose using only WiFi signals
→ Detects breathing rate (6-30 BPM) without touching anyone
→ Measures heart rate (40-120 BPM) from across the room
→ Sees through walls, furniture, and debris up to 5 meters deep
→ Tracks multiple people simultaneously with zero identity swaps
→ Self-learns from raw WiFi data. No labeled datasets needed
Here's how it works:
WiFi signals pass through your room and hit the human body. The body scatters those signals differently based on position, breathing, even heartbeat. RuView reads that scattering pattern and reconstructs everything.
A mesh of 4 ESP32 nodes ($48 total) gives you 360-degree coverage with 12 measurement links, 20 Hz updates, and sub-30mm precision.
Here's the wildest part:
It has a disaster response mode called WiFi-Mat. It detects survivors trapped under rubble through concrete walls, classifies injury severity using START triage protocol, and estimates 3D position. The kind of tool that saves lives after earthquakes.
The Rust implementation processes 54,000 frames per second. That's 810x faster than the Python version. The entire Docker image is 132 MB.
The AI model fits in 55 KB of memory. Runs on an $8 ESP32 chip.
Train once, deploy in any room. No retraining. No recalibration.
1,100+ tests. SHA-256 verified capability audit.
