This is stupid policy, caving to the RWNJ media and the Coalition when there was no need to do so. More targeted relief for commercial users would have been smarter. The RBA will take the temporary nature of this into account and look through it when setting rates in May.

We're halving the fuel tax for three months to save you money when you fill up. Conflict overseas is pushing up prices at home. And we know Australians are feeling the pressure.

I called it nonsense when Taylor announced his policy, and I'll call it nonsense now the government has announced it. In (almost) the same breath, he then talks about demand management! I think the PM means 'we're under significant political pressure'. Politics-over-policy!

"encouraging people to take public transport where possible, to conserve fuel for those who need it" WHY would ANYONE do that when you just made fuel cheaper? This will not "conserve fuel" but do the reverse (for an insane amount of taxpayer money). SO STUPID!

@AlboMP @SenatorWong This is a supply problem. Halving the tax does nothing to stop this. Let the market work and minimise unnecessary trips, freeing up fuel for agriculture, logistics, etc

On this day, as Greeks celebrate their War of Independence from the Muslim Turks, Britain has signed a multi-billion-pound agreement for major new training and support for Turkey, including 20 advanced British-built Typhoon aircraft. Turkey still occupies 37% of Cyprus. Shame.

@CoreyJMahler I disagree this time. “Jesus is Lord” sounds to most people like a religious opinion that doesn’t mean anything in reality. “Christ is king” sounds like not only a religious but also a real governmental commitment to obeying Him and enacting His civic laws.

Perhaps instead of saying “Christ is King.” we should be using the credal language of Scripture and saying “Jesus is Lord.”

@uncle_deluge @banterwithb Gospel of Mary was apocryphal, heretical, & very late. It is not from the first century, it’s not apostolic and therefore was tightly rejected by Church Fathers.

@Shane380 @DohMkay Why judge and criticise during Lent? Approach your new faith with humility. You’re not a Protestant any more so be quiet and listen to your priest.

@DohMkay maybe your established members should be less shit first so everyone actually has a life to live rather you people worship money while flagellating yourself to protect a system you take no responsibility in and which is at war with other systems of equal authority

Can Orthodox converts just stop being autistic about their faith? Get an actual hobby, go out and meet some real people. Pray your morning and evening prayers, go to church. You're not a theologian or a saint. Laypeople have no business reading canons and interpreting them or being involved in church affairs, interpreting scriptures and early church fathers. Im so tired of Internet Orthodoxy. It only exists online, its not real. Turn off your phone or computer and see how much this discourse actually matters in your life, in other people's life. It is all in your head, its not real.

As a priest, who has celebrated Holy Communion twice today and is departing for a Cistercian monastery tomorrow, can I just say that this 'Easter Egg rage' is nonsense. If you care that much, get yourself to church, and then perhaps you will realise that our faith is not based on confectionary or its packaging.

The former Coalition NSW government spent years studying how to fix the road and decided the best option was twin 11km tunnels between Little Hartley and Blackheath. The newly installed Minns NSW government and Albanese federal government ditched it.
