@MmisterNobody While you shop they identify you with facial rec, look at your credit score, analyze your past purchases, then adjust the price of each item in your cart. That way you pay your equitable share.

Walmart is officially going full force and is rolling out digital price tags in all 4,600 US stores, with digital screens replacing paper price tags by the end of 2026. Every shelf. Every store. All controlled remotely from one central system. This gives Walmart the ability to change the price of any product at any moment. Based on demand, time of day, inventory levels, or whatever algorithm they choose. And the moment Walmart moves, every major retailer in the country will follow. Once everything turns digital, it's game over.

@NefflynB Tell him to pull his damn shirt out of his pants when he's zipping up the zipper after taking a leak. It's getting caught in the zipper and then he pulls on it to get it loose and it tears a small hole each time.

@kimmonismus You all don't get it at all do you? The complexity of just getting a robot to do all these task so fluidly is amazing knowing how much technology and programing went it do these things, it's a marvel it can happen at all.

@geerlingguy I have almost 2 decades worth of ripped movies, lost some when I had a drive fail that wasn't getting mirrored. I have since rebuilt it with most of the missing movies and shows. I have gone from using a classic Xbox running XBMC with a remote file server, to plex & now Jellyfin.

A few times a year, I pick up an old movie or book and have a watch/read through again. 1-2 decades later, the same material can have a lot different impact. I'm glad I have the physical media, too. I can be sure Disney or Amazon or whoever didn't go changing the story lol

@loyalmoses You should print a super large light switch and place it on the wall directly behind you. See an entire video for content and a dig at those who have an issue with light switches. LOL!

YouTube is funny... this is one of the sets we have here in the new studio and I think it looks GREAT... then we get a comment from someone that says "hey, your new studio looks good, but I don't like the receptacle behind the couch or the light switches, they are too distracting." huh?! I can't imagine what it would be like to use a video platform and be triggered by light switches. 🤦‍♂️

Sharing 3D printing! Giving away a couple of printers to some very lucky soon to be first time 3D printer owners in the valley along with a stack of @Polymaker_3D filament for them each! We have approaching 200 printers here, I can’t give them away fast enough. 😅

@CHR15wP3TT5 @joeltelling Hey there can never be enough 3D printed vases, bowls and trays in this world. Everything I have ever printed has a use and if not it gets recycled. I believe Joel recycles his stuff too. I give pencil holders away at work to teachers and they love them so much! Spread joy!

@joeltelling How many plastic vases, bowls, trays & nick-nacks does the world need?? When is the fascination with filling the world with plastic junk going to end? Maybe go get some actual hemp rope & make a fruit bowl out of that? At least then it’ll biodegrade when it doesn’t get used 🤷🏽‍♂️

HELP. I'm looking for a model I saw a while ago, but cannot find now. It was a rope bowl, but looked like licorice when printed in red. It didn't look like a normal "rope bowl" but I think it was called a rope bowl. Any ideas?

@FilamentFrenzy You should see 2 of my printers, a highly modded RepRapGuru i3 kit and a highly modded Anet 6 that most would never know the life they started out as by looking at them know. They look like a Prusa MK3 now sorta. LOL! The joy of 3D printing.

@MoJee3d I know right. I took apart my "The 100" CoreXY to rebuild it with some newer printed parts and have so many screws. I just placed them all into my iFixit kit lid and was like whoa....but the pile is getting smaller with rebuilding as I sort through it!

@andrew_r @geerlingguy How is this not illegal? This is exactly why I didn't want to upgrade to Windows 11. At least with MacOS I have a choice. Linux doesn't even care. I, as a consumer, should not have to jump through hoops to create a local account. Another metric for them to track us.

@loyalmoses I already have about 100 rolls of filament and only 3 printers so more printers please! I'd like a Voron 2.4, a Voron 0.2, a Bambu Labs X1C, Elegoo Centauri Carbon to start off my 3D printer farm! The wife said 3 is enough....lol! I'm moving my office to a larger room!

@geerlingguy Personally I think we should all boycott them briefly and send them emails stating their prices need to come back down. Personally I'm buying other brands now that are cheaper. Orange Pi 3 on aliexpress is $39 and works great for running Klipper for 3D printers. Still expensive.

The high-end 16 GB Pi 5 (plus accessories) is $208. A faster Tiny PC with an Intel N150 and 16 GB of RAM is $159. When did Raspberry Pis get so expensive? youtube.com/watch?v=TORg5F…

Tempted to ditch windows on my desktop and give linux a whirl for a bit. I know nvidia support was lacking for awhile but is much improved as of late and with steam/proton games shouldnt be an issue Im pretty sure Davinci Resolve works fine too Thoughts? (probably linux mint btw)

@MoJee3d To be honest I really don't mind because some of them are getting innovative and adding different ideas. We still all benefit because we get cheaper 3D printers that are awesome vs $1,000-$1,500. I'll take $299.99.

@mjparme @loyalmoses Apple has a choice, they are their own company, own entity. They can literally tell the UK that they refuse to follow what they're asking due to security risk reasons. This is a bad idea for everyone. It leaves iPhone users less secure. I'm a 27-year IT admin.

@loyalmoses You are blaming Apple when you should be blaming the UK government. Apple has no choice but to comply with the law. They either have to disable the feature in the UK or create a backdoor which will affect every iPhone user in the world.

Apple stripping data privacy from UK users is a slap in the face to the men who secured it for us in the first place. Untold consequences await, let me explain. I spent 20+ years in information security, and for many of those years my specialty was encryption/PKI. Allow me to share why you’ve enjoyed data privacy that even the government couldn’t take from you. In 1976, two brilliant men, Whitfield Diffie and Martin Hellman revolutionized cryptography with their paper introducing public-key encryption, the backbone of modern privacy. Side note, I traveled to Palo Alto and visited with their families, my colleagues at the time. Their ideas inspired the tech genius Phil Zimmermann, who in 1991 released PGP (Pretty Good Privacy), a tool to encrypt emails/data and protect everyday people’s communications. The U.S. government classified encryption as a "munition," and when PGP spread overseas, Zimmermann faced a criminal investigation for "exporting high level encryption"—the US government wanted the encryption keys. Rather than surrender his principles—or the keys to his creation—he risked a lifetime of prison to defend privacy. The case dropped in 1996, cementing PGP as a symbol of resistance and securing encryption’s role in our lives. Today, February 21, 2025, Apple’s bending to a secret UK order under the Investigatory Powers Act feels like a gut punch to that legacy. By disabling Advanced Data Protection for UK users instead of fighting, Apple’s handing over the security that Diffie, Hellman, and Zimmermann bled for. Zimmermann didn’t face jail just for tech giants to fold—privacy’s worth the fight.
