@vtgrad2010 @TomHoefling I am so sorry that this is happening to the American body of Christ. This is not Christian at all.

I myself wrote in another candidate, but Christians will most frequently cite the 1) I’m not voting for a pastor, I’m voting for a president, or 2) I know Trump’s not great, but he’s the lesser of two evils (and the men that have a chance won’t always be redeemed), and so I’m voting my conscience. I personally feel convicted that as Christians, there needs to be a line in the sand, subjective as it may be. That even if it means losing worldly power (and even losing an election as important as the presidency), that we hold our representatives to a higher moral standard. Instead, our collective witness is harmed by not *just* tacitly approving but full throated endorsing a wicked man. We’ve watered down our faith for proximity to power. Instead of being persecuted for our beliefs, Christian’s are getting persecuted for their support of discernably wicked behavior. It’s frankly mind blowing, and profoundly sad. We’re hypocrites of the highest order.

The most disastrous thing about Trump is his ability to convince millions of professing Christians/conservatives/republicans to totally abandon truth, and principle, and decency, all for empty promises. They traded away everything for an empty bag.

@AmieWil90614783 @TomHoefling @AntiToxicPeople Yes, but they were the minority. Trump's speaking style and views corrupted 60% of my fellow believers. People were not expecting him to be a narcissistic freak. No one had experience with a clinically ill presidential candidate. Sadly, too many are still in due to sunken cost.

@CitezenB @TomHoefling @AntiToxicPeople They were always there. They just stayed more hidden and behind their KKK robes. They would bring their Bibles to hanging events and have picnics under the bodies still swinging in the wind. trump just gave them permission to hate out in the open and that's all they needed.
