Honest penguin talk: six weeks of saying what no one was saying about DeFi. Contributor @joaopdgarcia cooked. Multiple episodes, one idea: DeFi doesn't have to be limited by the execution environment. That's exactly what Cartesi was built to fix. ↓ • DeFi can now be built around what finance actually needs. • Floating-point math is viable onchain, enabling robust pricing and risk models. • Devs can now access NumPy, QuantLib, and the full quantitative finance stack on web3. • Stateful, long-running financial processes can run onchain. • A full Linux environment brings real languages, mature libraries, while staying verifiable on Ethereum. • App-specific rollups let computation-heavy financial systems scale independently, without competing for blockspace. The execution layer is the conversation we should've been having all along.

The NFT craze proved it: DeFi apps aren’t slow because of bad code. They’re slow because they share a CPU with meme coins. App-specific execution layers give each app its own CPU. No competition for blockspace. That’s what good architecture unlocks. Study @cartesiproject 👇

Most devs overcomplicate token pricing. But how about bonding curves? Pump(dot)fun runs on this mechanism. Uniswap too. Bonding curves are just math and we built this in Python on Cartesi. Price moves in real time with every buy and sell. No order books. No middlemen. Just math.

I wrote a 5-page piece on this, arguing something uncomfortable: DeFi doesn’t optimize for finance. It optimizes for what the EVM can afford to compute. That’s why we’re still behind TradFi. Now I’m going down the rabbit hole and unpacking it all in 1-minute videos. 👇

Once again, if it’s Friday, it’s Cartesi Weekly with your latest ecosystem updates 🐧 New Cartesi CLI alpha for Node v2 is out, bringing improvements that make development smoother, safer, and more reliable. It adds better encoding for easier smart contract interactions, fixes template creation to reduce friction, updates Docker requirements for consistent builds, and provides ready-to-use application templates to help devs quickly start experiments. This release is for core devs and testers only, but if you want to dive in, find it here: → github.com/cartesi/applic… 10 reasons why DeFi can benefit from a better execution environment. Learn what Cartesi brings to the table and why it matters in the quest to bring more complex financial systems onchain, on par with TradFi. Article written by our DevAdvocacy Lead, @joaopdgarcia: → x.com/joaopdgarcia/s… Explore all contributor writings in our blog’s dedicated space: → cartesi.io/contributor-hu… Speaking of articles, Cartesi also got a nice feature in @Datawalletcom, covering everything about the architecture, with build examples (including @LocaleNet), token utility, and more. Check it out here: → datawallet.com/crypto/cartesi… As with every beginning of the month, the @l2beat recap is out, collecting the latest news from partners over the past month. See our section here: → x.com/l2beat/status/… On the community side, don’t forget you can also find us on @CoinMarketCap, where Cartesi has its own Community Feed and dedicated content: → x.com/cartesiproject… Markets will test us. But building is our answer. We'll keep shipping through it all.

Cartesi will be fine. Out of @VitalikButerin ‘s list of what L2s should be we hit (i), (ii), (iii -for computation) and (iv). It’s the payoff from taking the hard route and differentiating early. Harder to build, but bigger probability of adding real value . @cartesiproject is built to be future proof. Its important enough to add value to wherever ethereum’s roadmap goes!

Solid piece by @joaopdgarcia Scaling in 2026 isn’t “L2 vs L2”. It’s execution + DA as first-class design choices. EVM for composability, custom execution for compute (see @cartesiproject), and DA that doesn’t bottleneck your app.

Just posted this article, made with the help of @riseandshaheen, the @cartesiproject DevAd unit, @naruto11eth, and the @AvailProject team x.com/joaopdgarcia/s… TL;DR: • Good narratives stand the test of time • What's an execution environment • What's a data availability Layer • How they unlock so much more together • The apps this can unlock: high-throughput DeFi, gaming, social

aiming for reach is the wrong way to grow your socials. you need to aim for depth. think of it like a plant growing. before anything shows above the surface, all the work is happening underground with roots forming on social, that underground work is consistency and presence: posting regularly with something worth saying, replying, engaging, building familiarity, trust, and context over time. most people try to grow tall too early by chasing reach. but without roots, nothing holds and the moment attention fades, everything collapses. long-term social growth comes from depth first. reach shows up later, as a side effect, when people care enough to repeat your message for you.
