As other communities settled in Palestine under Ottoman rule — including Africans brought through the slave trade — these families became part of Palestinian society over generations. They are minorities, but for non-Palestinians to weaponize this history as a “gotcha” is absurd.

These migrations became common as the Ottomans lost Balkan territory. Muhacir families resettled across Ottoman lands and, over generations, became Palestinian, Syrian, Turkish, etc. This was a normal feature of late Ottoman history, not some contradiction.

@JuggerKnotty @CliffordDMay It's Islamophobic to think it's odd to see a group of men appropriating a public street to pray instead of using the religious building nearby that exists for the purpose of prayer? Sure, Jan.

From @elikowaz: The Syrian historian Constantin Zureiq, who coined the term “Nakba” in 1948, used it to describe the Arab states’ catastrophic failure to defeat the newly founded Jewish state. The disaster, in his telling, was that Israel survived. That origin hasn’t disappeared — it lives in every map from the river to the sea, every demand for a return that would demographically undo what 1948 failed to undo militarily. The New York Post is out with my column on Israel's announced defamation lawsuit against Nicholas Kristof and the New York Times. The lawsuit could put on trial a troubling history of the "Gray Lady" on Israel that speaks to the "actual malice" standard. nypost.com/2026/05/17/opi…

The JCPOA contained sunset provisions that would have dismantled all restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program by 2031. Actual events: U.S. and Israeli military strikes have destroyed or rendered inaccessible virtually every link in Iran’s nuclear weapons supply chain. @StrickerNonpro fdd.org/analysis/2026/…

I’ve been checking multiple sources and assessments on Iran’s ballistic missile capability. The picture that’s emerging is that Iran has lost roughly half of its ballistic missile arsenal and about half of its missile launchers. Missile production, once estimated at roughly 100 missiles per month, appears to have fallen close to zero. The missile production infrastructure has been decimated. Before the war, Iran was on a trajectory to reach an arsenal of roughly 10,000 ballistic missiles within about two and a half years. Now, estimates suggest the regime is down to roughly 1,000–1,100 missiles remaining — a dramatic degradation of one of Tehran’s most important strategic capabilities. There is a strong argument for major military operations to resume to further degrade this deadly threat.

Moscow and Moscow region will remain under Ukrainian strikes until Putin signs a capitulation. Today the largest Ukrainian attack on Moscow and the Moscow region since the beginning of the war took place. Russian military infrastructure and oil facilities that generate money for Russia’s war machine were under attack. Social media is now full of videos from residents of the Moscow region complaining that they “never thought the war would reach them.” According to opinion polls, 75% of Moscow residents support the actions of Russian troops in Ukraine. They also support continuing the war rather than starting negotiations. These figures are roughly twice as high as the Russian national average. Residents of Moscow participate the least in the war, suffer the fewest casualties, and the Russian authorities do everything possible to ensure that life in Moscow and Saint Petersburg remains almost unchanged from pre-war times. As long as it did not directly affect them, Muscovites either supported the war or pretended it had nothing to do with them. Moscow is the center of the empire. Russia has always been deeply polarized: Moscow treats many of its own territories and peoples as colonies. Strikes on other Russian regions barely concerned the Russian authorities. For Russia and its regime, Moscow is the political, financial, ideological, and symbolic center that embodies the full concentration of power. Moscow is the main imperial symbol dominating vast regions - Putin’s personal fortress, from which the neo-imperial state is controlled and the war is directed. That is why Putin was so afraid of Ukrainian drones during the parade. Ukraine has now developed - and continues to develop - our long-range strike capabilities against Russia. And we will act symmetrically. Moscow’s air defense systems can no longer fully protect Russian military and oil facilities. Russia’s war against Ukraine is now also being fought on Russian territory. Leave Ukrainian territory, pay reparations, and it will all end!

Moscow oil refinery under a drone attack. Reportedly, this is the largest drone attack on Moscow region since the beginning of the war. For now, I guess?

New definition of recklessness = #Iran’s targeting a civilian nuclear power plant in UAE. If #Tehran had truly wanted civilian nuclear power, as it claims, it could have renounced enrichment, signed a 123 agreement and have had its own version of Barakah. But no, it would rather risk contamination throughout the region.
IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️@iaeaorg

The IAEA has been informed by the UAE that radiation levels at the Barakah NPP remain normal and no injuries were reported after a drone strike this morning caused a fire in an electrical generator located outside the inner site perimeter of the NPP. Emergency diesel generators are currently providing power to the NPP’s unit 3. The IAEA is following the situation closely and is in constant contact with the UAE authorities, ready to provide assistance if needed. DG @rafaelmgrossi expresses grave concern about the incident and says military activity that threatens nuclear safety is unacceptable. The DG reiterates call for maximum military restraint near any NPP to avoid the danger of a nuclear accident.

Congressman Randy Fine
Ilhan Omar is still a citizen of Somalia, and she has never given up her citizenship. Unbelievable. My new bill would make people like @IlhanMN give up their dual citizenship if they want to serve in Congress. You’re either American or Somali. It’s just that simple. We don’t want foreigners serving in Congress any longer. PERIOD.

As the U.S.-Iran ceasefire unfolds, Iran’s alarming rapid increase in executions signals a calculated strategy to crush any dissent. Amnesty International reports that the regime is weaponizing the death penalty at an unprecedented rate. The New York Times writes that "the authorities are trying to intimidate Iranians from returning to the streets." It says that "the pace of sentencing and hangings appears to have surged over the last two months." The Center for Human Rights in Iran highlights that this brutal crackdown is intensifying, particularly within prisons and courtrooms. Human rights groups emphasize that this escalation in executions comes at a critical juncture, as international attention may well be waning during the ceasefire.

🚨 MASSIVE ESCALATION: The Regime is Now Arming Children with RPGs in Mosques! What you are watching is pure desperation. The Islamic Republic is now using mosques as military training grounds to arm men, women, and, horrifyingly, young children with assault rifles and RPGs. State propaganda claims they are preparing to fight Zionist and American enemies. We know exactly what that code word means: they are referring to the anti-regime Iranian people. This training is designed for one primary purpose: to arm loyalists to slaughter their own neighbors during an uprising. This video represents a catastrophic escalation for several reasons: 1. Children are being weaponized. Handing heavy weaponry like RPGs to children is a war crime. The regime is brainwashing and militarizing the youth, preparing them to unleash explosive violence on civilian populations. 2. Mosques are military bases. By turning places of worship into weapons depots and combat training centers, the regime is using religion as a shield to execute extreme violence. 3. Total desperation and loss of control. You do not train civilians and children to use anti-tank weapons inside a mosque if your official military and security forces are intact and capable. This proves the regime's infrastructure is severely fractured, and they are terrified of the people. This is no longer just basic suppression; they are preparing for a brutal civil conflict, using their own citizens as human shields and executioners. Please share this video everywhere. The international community needs to see exactly how far the Islamic Republic will go to cling to power, even if it means using children as weapons against their own country.

Iran’s new “insurance” approach to the Straits is a mafia-like action: pay Iran a fee and your ship will not to blow up, This is an international waterway; Iran cannot own it, and all commercial ships have the right of free transit. Iran blocks that today. Will we undo this?
