There are 14 IPL matches remaining. Each match uses approximately 25000-30000 litres of petrol. A person will take 30 years to use that much Petrol. So if we ban live audiences of IPL, we'll immediately save 350000-420000 litres of petrol. Just one action will save more petrol than whole city doing voluntarily.

This is refreshing new thinking: judging a market bottom based on which month it happens in.

Muthu ji, your political views are your own - but please do speed up the returns on my investments. 😃
Muthukrishnan Dhandapani@dmuthuk

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look. In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments. From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments. We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs. And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner. Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional . This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day. Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman. I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with. Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

They say that the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. Here we love our headlines about how the Indian economy has reached Rank X in the world and the whole world is looking at us. And there is this article in the Wall Street Journal specifically about emerging markets. It talks about which emerging markets are looking good or bad and what are the causes for the same...and the whole article does not even as much as MENTION India even in passing. We could just as well not have existed at all. As of now we are facing a shocking level of irrelevance @livemint @WSJ

To my mind, this Bengal election is a litmus test of whether we have fallen below the minimum threshold of electoral integrity, whether electoral democracy has any future at all. I cannot get into numbers, but all the credible information that I have been able to gather so far points to a comfortable lead for the TMC, more than enough to make up for the SIR damage. If despite this the ECI manages to conjure a victory for BJP, this has to be the result of an electoral fraud. Such an (unlikely, despite what exit polls say) event must get the entire opposition to come together and ask if there is any point of contesting any more elections under these circumstances. — Yogendra Yadav

A cautionary tale about @urbancompany_uc and how a publicly listed company handles damage claims. Booked their technician (Sanju Kumar) to install a Luminous inverter at my home in Bangalore. Routine job. Should've been 2 hours. Invoice no: UCIC260004101947 Complaint no: 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 Instead of a standard install, he opened the main switchboard and worked with MAINS LIVE violating the most basic electrical safety rule. Phase-neutral cross-connection caused a ~280V surge through my home wiring. Within minutes: • Geyser circuit dead - Approximation given is around 12,000 to fix • 55" Smart TV motherboard fried, panel and screen damaged - looking at full loss ( Rs 48,000) • Apple TV completely destroyed (₹14,900 replacement) • Home electrical wiring compromised (Assessing currently) The moment Sanju Kumar realized he'd damaged the geyser, he packed up and LEFT mid-job. Inverter still uninstalled. No fix. No apology. No accountability. Had to hire a different electrician the next day to fix the wiring he broke out of my own pocket. Filed formal complaint with UC. Specifically requested a SENIOR technician for independent damage assessment. UC's response? They sent SANJU KUMAR BACK. The same person who caused the damage. To "take photos" of his own work and walk away. He showed up, photographed the damage he caused, left without resolution. No claims process opened. No callback. When we asked UC for a complaint ID, it took multiple follow-ups and a manual download of a tax invoice to extract any documentation. They were not proactive in issuing one almost as if to avoid creating a paper trail. 3 sleepless nights. ₹40,000+ in documented damages. Complete radio silence from UC corporate after that. @urbancompany_uc @abhirajbhal @raghavchandra @varunkhaitan — your company is publicly listed now. Retail and institutional shareholders are watching how customer grievances are handled. Is THIS the customer experience model investors signed up for? 1. Technician violates basic electrical safety 2. Damages multiple appliances and home wiring 3. Walks off mid-job when he realizes his mistake 4. Same technician sent back to "investigate" his own damage 5. Customer chases for documentation that should've been auto-generated 6. Then gets ghosted Listed companies are held to a higher standard of corporate governance, customer protection, and grievance redressal. SEBI compliance and investor disclosures aren't just about quarterly numbers they extend to how the brand treats its customers. This isn't how a publicly listed company should operate. Asking for: 1. Independent senior technician (not Sanju Kumar) to assess damage 2. Compensation for documented damages: ₹90,000+ 3. Formal acknowledgment of complaint 69f362690db9530026fe28d7 4. Process review — no customer should have to extract their own complaint ID 5. Public clarification on UC's damage claims SOP Have all invoices, technician's diagnosis report confirming overvoltage cause, photos, timestamps, and WhatsApp records. please be careful. If a clearly documented case is handled this way, imagine the cases without paper trails. Consumer forum filing prepared if there's no response in 48 hours.

For a retirement corpus of 40 cr at 60 How much of you should have it now?? @_soniashenoy is 40. She needs 2.5 cr now to have 40 cr at 60. But a 30 yr old needs only 61 lakhs now to reach 40 cr at 60. For a 25 yr old, the current number is only 30 Lakhs. Be sensible guys.

All the debate around 40cr got me thinking about how more conversations around retirement planning need to be had. When @sandeepjethwani and I sat down to talk, the focus was simply to breakdown real portfolios ( which we did on the show) and understand in simple terms how to plan for retirement. Studies show that 75% Indians do not even have 6 months of emergency funds saved up, leaving them vulnerable to financial shocks. Only 1 in 4 Indians have a dedicated rainy day fund and roughly 45% of people save less than 10% of their income That we should consider the future value of money and not just what it means today is the larger point. 40cr is unrealistic and unnecessary for most and it stressed me out too , however the larger conversation still needs to be had . Whatever your figure 10, 20 or 40, Are you planning for retirement at all ? Full conversation with @DezervHQ is out now. All feedback always welcome . ❤️

In my opinion, If you spend 1-2 lakh/month today in a metro city for a family of 4 including education and rent/ emi, You would need roughly 8-10 crore by age 60 as a retirement corpus to live comfortably. But Sandeep Jethwani of Dezerv tells me that inflation, lifestyle creep and unexpected health costs can inflate your retirement expenses much more than you think and 8-10cr is not enough. he says a family of 4 spending 1-2 lakhs per month today need a 40cr retirement corpus in 20 years to maintain a certain lifestyle. That got me thinking about how the numbers keep getting more and more unattainable and the frustration among the youth is palpable due to lack of jobs and opportunities to grow income. Whats the solution then ? reduce your expenses, cut lifestyle creep, stop comparison and decide what your definition of enough is. Thoughts ?
