I know I’ve said this a lot, but I cannot emphasize enough that email will continue to become less deterministically reliable as a means for distributing your work; this is a huge part of why we got into the app and feed business! You can blame a few things (1/n):

I am genuinely curious what changed so dramatically that Elon went from "inflation and government spending will collapse America"
to "government should write endless checks to all Americans and this will create deflation" in, like, 14 months
The supposed reason is "AI" but that didn't suddenly emerge in the last year.
Yet his views on this have taken a full 180 in that same timeframe. To the point that it sounds like a different person entirely.
Still have not seen a coherent explanation.

Agentic commerce isn’t priced in yet. Machine-to-machine payments will increase demand for the digital dollar beyond current estimates. The agentic economy could be larger than the human economy. We're building the infrastructure for both at Coinbase.

Serious question. Has anyone ever noticed meaningful regressions in Codex/OpenAI models?
I feel like we talk about this a lot w/ Anthropic but I've never seen a similar discussion with OAI.

Even when a newsletter *does* generate a lot of on-platform discussion because I put more work in, the conversion to off-site traffic is very middling. Maybe 2-3% of the readership for a Silver Bulletin article instead of ~1%. At 538, ~15% of our traffic came from Twitter!

53m people signed up for the NYT account which has never had much "voice" as opposed to some of its writers. That's because they were using Twiiter as a news feed with the on-platform discussion as a side course. Now that use case is broken. Few of the 53m even see their tweets.

Resolved!! @trq212 helped me out debug where the token usage came from and it was my fault 100% Script to find token usage gist.github.com/kieranklaassen… I had a recurring script that ran every 5 minutes that should not have run every 5. I hope we can make it easier to detect these within Claude and Claude Code soon too.

@GergelyOrosz as an adhd person I’m 1000x more productive because it’s so much easier to context switch and get into “doing things” mode

The more I use AI tools, the more I have to admit that I'm not that much more productive... I simply FEEL that much more productive.
In reality, the context switching of kicking several things off wipes out my perceived productivity gains. At least in many/most cases!
