I’m launching Senate Democrats’ Election Protection Task Force to prevent, monitor, and challenge any malfeasance from Donald Trump and the far-right before, during, and after our elections in November.
Our task force is bringing together 11 senators and some of the sharpest elections experts in the country to safeguard our democracy.

"They tried to buy my vote. They couldn't buy it."
Rep. Thomas Massie delivers a fiery speech after losing his reelection bid, accusing powerful forces in Washington of trying for years to take him down.
Massie, who became a regular target of attacks from President Trump, said they "decided to buy the seat" after they couldn't buy his vote.

Hakeem Jeffries tells a progressive conference that Democrats must 'break the spirit' of tens of millions of Trump voters — and Republicans call it 'a declaration of war.'
The House Minority Leader framed the midterms as an existential fight: 'Either MAGA extremists are going to break the country, or we're going to break them, and our goal is to break them.'
RNC Chairman Joe Gruters fired back: 'The majority of Americans voted for President Trump in 2024 — Democrats want to break those who did.'

CENTCOM chief Adm. Brad Cooper visibly angered after Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton said he “would like to how many more Americans we have to ask to die for this mistake.” “I think that’s an entirely inappropriate statement from you, sir, with all due respect,” Cooper responded.

A loophole in the federal law gives federal law enforcement officers near-total immunity, even if they violate your constitutional rights. As Donald Trump continues to threaten deploying armed agents to polling locations, Rep. Moulton is introducing the Protecting American Voters’ Rights Act to change that.

Below is my friend Thomas Massie. He loves America and is fighting to save it.
Also below is my friend and President, Donald Trump. He’s put his life on the line to save this great country.
I support both of these men. I’ve worked with both to preserve freedom and liberty.
And if that makes you angry, bless your heart.

Massie: I’m walking to an airplane to rejoin the most expensive congressional race in U.S. history. It’s turned into a referendum on whether Israel gets to buy seats in Congress. And what they found out is that my seat is really expensive. By the time this is over, they will probably have spent $20 million and come up short.
I’ve never seen Great Britain, Australia, or even Germany play in our elections here in the United States. But Israel gets so much from the United States.
It’s a one-sided relationship. They get us to be their proxies in wars they want against their enemies. They get our military assistance. They get our technology. They get our bombs. They get our tax dollars.
And I think it’s a very one-sided relationship. At least with NATO, we pretend that they would come to our aid someday if we needed it—and even that’s a ruse.

@GavinNewsom California The state had a $98 billion budget surplus in 2022. Democrats spent it on infrastructure, homelessness initiatives, and subsidized health insurance for illegal immigrants instead.

These Data Centers as told to you years ago, suck up millions of gallons of drinking water and siphon Gigawatts out of the Grid, with scant regulation.
They are resource-intensive.
In many cases they don't fully pay their "fair share" — especially when you factor in the heavy water and electricity demands, grid upgrades, and public infrastructure strain you mentioned earlier.
It's a mixed picture with real economic upsides, but widespread criticism that the costs are socialized while benefits (and tax breaks) are privatized.
Data centers (especially the massive hyperscale ones powering AI, cloud computing, and big tech) are extremely resource-intensive.
This has been a growing issue for years, and the boom in AI has accelerated it. Here's a breakdown based on recent data:
A single large/hyperscale data center can consume 1–5 million gallons per day (equivalent to the daily water use of a town of 10,000–50,000 people).
U.S. data centers as a whole consumed around 17.4 billion gallons directly in 2023, with projections of 38–73 billion gallons by 2028. U.S. data centers used ~176 TWh in 2023 (~4.4% of total U.S. electricity). Projections for 2028 range from 325–580 TWh (6.7–12% of national consumption).
This is "siphoning" gigawatts in high-growth areas (e.g., Virginia's "Data Center Alley," Texas, Georgia), driving up peak demand, delaying projects, and forcing utilities to add natural gas plants or other capacity in some regions. Companies often negotiate tax breaks and incentives, and data on exact usage can be opaque (treated as proprietary).
