To me, cultural identity is less about specific, universal traits, though I think there are patterns, and more about group dynamics within the world and, in this case, within the UK and where you feel you fit into them.
Otto English@Otto_English

Since this article does not explain what 'English identity' is I would like to challenge @RobertJenrick to give me three examples of what I, as an Englishman, have in common with all other English people and what specifically I should be proud of as a result.

@YouGov Notice how the areas with lots of Muslims don't have a strong regional identity. It's because their loyalty is to Islam first and only.

We don’t need young people to take care of elderly people. We need young people to take care of younger people. Having children & viewing them as servants and slaves for you is wrong. Live until you can no longer live comfortably and then people should choose willingly to leave with dignity, e.g. euthanization. Unfortunately, because people are living longer than they’re supposed to this is likely the route we have to take. We are only as strong as our weakest link afterall. Harsh truth.

No. The basic reproduction of society isn’t a choice. Future citizens and workers will care for you, maintain society, and their taxes will pay for your pension. For those who want to have more kids: why should they internalise all the costs while you get those benefits?
Bella Wallersteiner 🇺🇦@BellaWallerstei

Having kids is a choice. Millennial professionals (such as myself) who can’t afford to start families shouldn’t be punished with higher taxes to subsidise those who do. If we want bigger families, let people keep more of what they earn. Lower taxes, not handouts

Among people aged 18-44, Reform got 11% of the vote, and Green got 13%. Guess which party is being hyped up by all the wrong people as the next big thing? It's actually sinister how they feed the bogeyman and censor the one party that will actually help you.
Joe Belcher@_joebelcher

@SkyNews No news story about Green in 2nd place with 15.5% of people aged 18-34. Not strange at all.

Whilst MSM remains silent @libertyhq are back in court again today to #DefendDemocracy against the gov’ts shocking & shameful decision to seek to appeal their High court win in May. Thank you everyone who is standing with them & for sending this update to a million views
Peter Stefanovic@PeterStefanovi2

🚨IMPORTANT The new @UKLabour Government has confirmed it will be pursuing an appeal against @libertyhq’s High Court victory - its now actually supporting the Tory Government’s power grab (opposed in opposition) that set a dangerous precedent Governments can do whatever they want

💔#Gaza now has the HIGHEST NUMBER OF CHILD AMPUTEES per capita in the world; many losing limbs/undergoing surgery with no anesthesia #DisabilityDay💔#CeasefireNOW🕊️
UNRWA@UNRWA

“How many days, Mom, until my hand grows back?” asks Sidra, 6, who was injured in a bombing at the Nuseirat shelter in #Gaza. After 14 months of strikes and shelling, Gaza now has the highest number of child amputees per capita anywhere in the world. Many of these children have lost limbs and undergone surgery without anesthesia and have no access to rehabilitation services to cope with the life-altering injuries caused by this war. #CeasefireNow #DisabilityDay

@compy1450 @SkulkofRoses @ourelectra @AbleismCat just because we haven’t created a utopia where everyone’s needs are met doesnt mean that we should ban it. that’s like saying we have to ban abortion until we eradicate poverty so we can be sure that people aren’t aborting children they otherwise would want because of money

You people will treat your cats and dogs with more dignity than your loved ones who are faced with a slow painful death and no hope of their terminal illness improving.

@ourelectra @AbleismCat All things considered, forced to live is a greater good than than forced to die. They're both injustices but not necessarily on the same scale. Especially since "forced to live" puts people in a stronger position to pressure the government to provide adequate support.

@rachelmsrp That sucks but I don’t think people in the US who live in states without assisted suicide programs should suffer bc of a law in the UK.

@janglymissive @colinwibbley I'm not sure this helps. This subject tends to confuse a lot of people because these terms are used interchangeably too often. Better to concede that English is an ethnicity and then point out that ethnicities are not the pure or static things that racists like to claim they are.

@colinwibbley I've been purposefully conflating the two in a way they won't like in an effort to wind them up/make them actually think about what they're spouting.
