Ten years ago, I couldn’t run a mile. This past Sunday, I ran a 2:57 marathon. I was a 272-pound college football player who treated conditioning days like punishment. My identity was built on size, strength, and being one of - if not the - hardest workers in the room. Not endurance. Not longevity. Definitely not running. Two completely different versions of me, separated by a decade - but connected by one simple truth: You can rebuild your life as many times as you’re willing to start. I talk a lot here about compounding in money & personal finance. But compounding in life works the exact same way. At 20, if you told me that by 30 I’d: - Build a business I love - Have a wife and a life I’m grateful for - Complete Ironmans, a 100-miler, dozens of races - Run a sub-3 marathon… …I would’ve laughed. Not because it was impossible - but because I didn’t yet understand the power of small decisions repeated for years. That’s the part most people underestimate. You don’t need to overhaul your life in a week. You need to stack days. You need to give your future self something to build on. You need to think in decades, not dopamine hits. I’m proud of who I was 10 years ago. I worked my ass off to be as big and strong as my frame could allow. I wasn’t an ultra-successful athlete, but I squeezed every drop out of who I was back then. And 10 years from now? I hope I’m looking back saying the same thing: “Damn… I’m proud of who that guy at 30 was. But I’ve come an even longer way since then.” That’s the game. Constant improvement. Daily action. Across decades. Your future self isn’t waiting for a miracle - they’re waiting for your next rep, your next decision, your next tiny step forward. Start today. Keep going long enough to look back and smile at who you became in ALL aspects of your life. BE THE BEST YOU

It's been a late struggle for the Trash Pandas, but Travis Blankenhorn has been on fire, including homers in back-to-back games. In eight games since returning from the IL, he's batting .370 with 3 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, and 1.118 OPS.

On 10/30/24 my wife and I welcomed our first addition to the family. It was exactly one year ago that I made the hard decision to leave baseball (full time) in order to be the husband/father that I wanted to be in the future. Happy that future is here #girldad
