I'd rather invest in a founder of a failed startup who is trying again than a founder who worked at Google for 5 years, ate the free snacks, and was never faced with a terribly hard day.

@ctjlewis @gbrl_dick My PM started as nontechnical but tbh is very willing to listen and work with e.g. our technical managers. She’s literally in charge of product, so defines specs, works with the UX/UI team directly, etc. We have a project manager too and one of our tech leads is our scrum manager

How do people feel about a VC that takes a meeting with a founder after having signed a term sheet with a competitor and not disclose it?

Seems that the VC market increasingly thinks of valuation: ...not as an *input* (company is worth X, so Y investment results in Z ownership) ...but instead as an *output* (investor wants to invest Y, company is willing to give Z ownership, so valuation is X) Strange times

As an early stage VC, it's my job to find the diamonds in the rough. It's one thing to chase heat or go after known entities, but when you seek out the raw attributes in a founder that you KNOW will translate into success, you run towards it. And that requires an open-mind. 🧵
