Anyone who considers themselves on the left and is still trying to convince others on the left to vote Labour has no standards or self-respect.

@thelefttake Eh? Why shouldn't he, both as a Jew and a national party leader, speak about it? The ghouls who will try to use his words against him would have come up with some equally disingenuous line if he hadn't have said anything.

Zack Polanski is an idiot for talking about what happened in Golders Green when it would inevitably open him up to avoidable criticism from the most disgusting selective racists living in our country today

@maxcownie_ @NoJusticeMTG She'd scarcely be an improvement on Starmer, but sure, I'd give her the job for whatever little time this government has left just to see classist idiots like Pearson's brains melt.

In the last 2 days there's been polling on - should MPs drink at work - should Keir Starmer be investigated - should rent be capped And Starmer's Labour have been on the incredibly unpopular side of all 3 of them. While Polanski's Greens have been leading the popular side.

Strange that the prime minister or senior Labour ministers have not come out and loudly condemned this. It seems as though certain minority groups aren’t worthy of being defended these days by our government.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at an LGBT+ nightclub in Milton Keynes. Thames Valley Police received reports at 2 am on Sunday that the Pink Punters venue in Milton Keynes was on fire.

If Wes Streeting actually paid attention to our borough he would see the only council in the country providing free school meals to every single school child, as well as the EMA and university bursaries, universal free homecare for elderly and disabled residents and much more. But it's no surprise that Mr Streeting is attacking us when Labour is facing historic defeat. Unlike the 9 Labour-led London councils currently being bailed out from bankruptcy by this government, Tower Hamlets is investing £250million in services and unprecedented cost of living support to residents, while increasing our financial reserves. Can Mr Streeting say the same of any Labour council?
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford

Superb piece from @tompeck who went out door-knocking with Wes Streeting in his constituency Streeting was withering about the Greens “Without traducing the entire Green Party and their activist base when I see some of the people who joined the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn, and have since left the Labour Party and joined the Greens, I feel a sense of relief “I feel sorry for the old, cuddly environmentalists who are now overrun with a bunch of people who made the Labour Party unelectable, who’ll be delighted that Zack Polanski would happily pull us out of Nato and they’ll make every excuse under the sun to defend the indefensible.” And here he is on the independents: “We’re voting for Redbridge council, not the UN security council. Who you choose to run your local council matters and the Redbridge independents represent a divisive brand of sectarian politics. I don’t want to see Redbridge becoming a basket case or a rotten borough like Tower Hamlets.” thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar…

@NewStatesman "The trains are running on time"? I've heard that said in defence of another authoritarian ghoul somewhere, I think (for what it's worth, it's not even true).

Mark Gatiss: "I don't understand the antipathy towards Keir Starmer" The actor – currently starring in a play lampooning fascism – argues that the PM is doing a good job, but from the press he gets "you'd think he was Vlad the Impaler". Listen on the New Society podcast.

They clearly have everything they need in America - chain restaurants, no paths, shockingly high levels of illiteracy, stadiums built beside toxic swamps, guns, very large cars. Why are the small percentage of Americans who have passports visiting other countries to complain?

I haven’t drunk alcohol in over 4 years but I don’t believe a total ban is necessary in Parliament and know Southwark brewers have loved being the guest beer in Strangers. I’m also unaware of any Labour MP who took money from women to hypnotise their breasts larger.
Saul Staniforth@SaulStaniforth

.@ZackPolanski calls out the number of Labour MPs who are defending their right to drink & get drunk at work. The fact that these MP's are choosing this particular hill to die on shows just how out of touch they are.

“The idea that MPs can go for a drink and then make decisions on 69 million people’s lives - and not be doing that sober - will seem very strange to the public.” Zack Polanski on Westminster’s drinking culture on Sky News.

The bandwidth sucked up by the Mandelson non-story is embarrassing. A minor appointment taken in what was perceived to be the national interest. Astonishing that the Westminster bubble is still obsessed but then tittle tattle started to define British politics a long time ago

It’s becoming clear Polanski doesn’t want to answer tough questions - on his own past as a hypnotherapist who once said he could grow women’s boobs. Or about anti-Semitic comments being made by Green Party candidates. He needs to step up and take accountability.
Good Morning Britain@GMB

'I don't think it's unreasonable Zack Polanski to ask you about your integrity, about your beliefs, about what you say.' @susannareid100 and @edballs challenge leader of the Green party Zack Polanski about claims he's previously made about using hypnosis to enlarge women's breasts. Zack Polanski has previously apologised for making the claims.
