My husband went to the dr with 2/10 occasional pain in his lower back. He left w/a full suite of tests & a same day X-ray at another clinic for something he was assured “didn’t sound serious”. He didn’t have to ask for a single test. I presented w/pains that used to buckle me over and it took me 1.5 years and tons of begging for tests and scans before I’d eventually be diagnosed with stage IV cancer. This is a problem. Very grateful he‘s receiving such a thorough work up but everyone deserves this level of care.

It is really (really) strange that Canada's "universal" healthcare system doesn't think that our eyes, teeth or the medications we need to stay healthy...are deserving of "universal" healthcare coverage.

Because refugees are human beings. Because no human should be illegal. Because the only difference between us & a refugee is luck...Support refugees. Welcome refugees. Stand with refugees. And stop the wars that make refugees. 🙏🏾
