I'm not even sure how to productively complain about this -- if you were trying to isolate the FOSS people from almost everything else at the conference, this is what the layout would look like. At least people could find the sweaty FOSS dome in 2021.

Right now, around 67% of human HTTPS traffic on Cloudflare is secured with post-quantum encryption preventing harvest-now/decrypt-later, up from 32% in January 2025. Cloudflare enables hybrid post-quantum key exchange across its network, helping drive rapid adoption, while origin server support is still growing and currently stands at about 9%. radar.cloudflare.com/post-quantum

AI could break today’s encryption sooner than expected. “It’s quite a shock,” says Cloudflare cryptography engineer Bas Westerbaan. (Also featuring Sharon Goldberg.) Cloudflare is targeting 2029 for post-quantum security. World Quantum Day special episode → ThisWeekinNET.com

The research behind this is wild. Your sperm carries a set of instructions that tell your genes when to turn on and off. A Duke University study found that THC rewrites those instructions. The more weed in your system, the bigger the changes. It goes straight for the genes your future embryo needs in its first week of life. I had to read the "day 3 crash" part twice. For the first three days after fertilization, an embryo runs entirely on the mother's DNA. Day 3, the father's genes switch on. If those genes carry cannabis damage, the embryo just stops growing. Fertility doctors see this happen in their labs: embryos that fertilized fine and looked healthy on day 2 go completely still by day 5. Boston University tracked 1,535 couples trying to have a baby. Men who smoked weed once a week or more doubled their partner's miscarriage risk. That number held up even when the woman herself never touched cannabis. And the miscarriages clustered in the first 8 weeks, right when the father's damaged DNA would be doing the most harm. Duke also found that the specific genes THC alters in sperm overlap with genes linked to autism. One of those genes, called DLGAP2, helps brain cells communicate with each other. It was changed in cannabis users' sperm. When researchers bred THC-exposed male rats and checked their offspring, the same altered gene pattern showed up in the pups' brains. The damage crossed a generation. Weed has gotten way stronger over the last 30 years. THC content was about 4% in the 1990s but nearly quadrupled to 15% by 2018, and modern dispensary strains regularly sit at 20-30%. Concentrates go up to 95%. Quitting for about 11 weeks (one full cycle of sperm production) reverses some of the DNA changes. Not all of them. Duke's lead researcher says men should stop at least 6 months before trying for a baby. Half of your kid's genetic blueprint comes from you, and right now, THC is editing that blueprint before conception even happens.
Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D.@hubermanlab

Cannabis is detrimental to sperm: even if they can fertilize, there can be DNA damage. Many miscarriages and (in the case of IVF) “day 3 crashes” which is when paternal DNA normally kicks in, are cannabis related. Dr Natalie Crawford on the Huberman Lab podcast out now.

NEW: If Waymo gets its way, 2 million workers will be out of work. When Waymo gets a firm hold on a city, wages go down. Some drivers now have to work 12 hours day, 7 days a week just to get by. This isn't inevitable — but Big Tech is spending millions to make you think it is.

I mean, basically every well regarded financial firm’s economists use these valuation-based expected returns analysis as a guiding indicator for setting long term capital market assumptions. The numbers are back tested using all historical data available for S&P 500. when forward P/E valuations get to high, earnings have to “catch up” and this can take years. Obviously this doesn’t mean that we’ll have exactly 0% returns per year for 10 years straight. Just that over the next 10 years, the expected *average* annual returns should be near zero. This is from Torsten Slok (one of smartest people on Wall Street for last 30 years).

As someone who scraped for a living for years, anyone recommending lightpanda to do it shows that they don’t have any experience regarding the subject. Only one thing to understand: TLS Fingerprinting You can have the fastest headless setup, puppeteer, lightpanda,… one wrong ClientHello and Cloudflare/Akamai lights you up instantly. CAPTCHA city. Lightpanda/Zig stuff is fun for tiny sites but gets cooked the second real anti-bot shows up. Cloudflare? Protects 20%+ of all websites on the internet What is a ClientHello? It’s the very first message your browser (or bot) sends during the TLS handshake. It openly announces your TLS version, the list of supported cipher suites, elliptic curves, extensions order, GREASE values, and other data. Anti-bot systems like Cloudflare and Akamai read this instantly and turn it into a fingerprint. If it doesn’t match a real browser’s exact signature… you’re flagged as a bot right away. The key here is simple: real TLS fingerprint spoofing requires low-level control. You can’t do it properly in JS or Python. You need languages like C++ or Rust to actually rewrite the ClientHello, cipher suites, extensions, and all the tiny details that Cloudflare and Akamai check instantly. Anything higher-level just leaves obvious artifacts that scream ‘bot’ What I recommend: Camofox An actual Firefox fork with proper C++ fingerprint spoofing, native TLS behavior, proxy/geo baked in, built so your agents don’t die on protected pages. Top-tier protections might flag it following interaction speed on the pages, ip addresses and other factors but there’s NO match between lightpanda and this "Camofox patches Firefox at the C++ implementation level - navigator.hardwareConcurrency, WebGL renderers, AudioContext, screen geometry, WebRTC are all spoofed" Basically, everything is spoofed BEFORE the JS on the page can even see the values. Which is not possible with python/js libraries. On another note, I talked about it to @Teknium on @NousResearch discord and literally 2 hours later it was implemented in Hermes Agent, it just shows that they take feedback very seriously and want to give the smoothest agent experience they can Level-up your setup right now github.com/jo-inc/camofox…

🚨BREAKING: Someone just open-sourced a headless browser that runs 11x faster than Chrome and uses 9x less memory. It's called Lightpanda and it's built from scratch specifically for AI agents, scraping, and automation. Not a Chromium fork. Not a hack. A completely new browser written in Zig.

VLAD HOSTS THE BEST PODCAST IN BITCOIN
I started 2026 with great optimism, hoping I’d become a millionaire. Less than a month later, I got evicted. Then I got an eye infection that kept me in bed on my birthday. My girlfriend broke up with me. The entire world seems to have gone mad. Now I’m just trying to roll with the punches, keep myself busy and not lose my mind. Almost everything I used to care about or gave me hope for the future is gone. I find my refuge in AI and podcast interviews. I moved back in my mother’s place, in the same room where 10 years ago I returned from university in a complete state of confusion because I didn’t know what to do next. Except that now I’m older, fatter, angrier at the world, and more frustrated. So I spend my days building something for the sake of it, because it gives me the feeling that I’m learning and growing beyond my comfort zone. I rarely go out, but I try to spend more time with my parents and grandparents. For most of my adult life, I ran away from them – telling myself that I’m better and I will make it big somewhere else. Well, I’m back to square one. Right now, even if I did in fact become a millionaire, I wouldn’t find any enjoyment in it. In the absence of a greater purpose or reason, I sort of find enjoyment in the grind. It makes me calm, it keeps me busy. My only concern is that this is the perfect recipe for dying alone. But in the end, we all get what we deserve.

@d4m1n Opex is fairly cheap relative to the increasing credit costs once the models are trained. It’s capex that’s the problem. The real question is how to build back their cash reserves to keep the staff they scaled to so they can stay competitive (and to keep investors happy)

$20,000 to scan one codebase that's what anthropic says it cost Mythos to find those zero days. per repo. except API tokens are currently sold at a LOSS. That "$20,000 scan" probably cost closer to $100,000+ in real gpu time ffmpeg couldn't afford the subsidized price let alone the real one... if the cost doesn't come down by a huge factor this just doesn't make sense. It's Anthropic's marketing week 💀

@dan16191927 @MattForVA And what is the police never comes in time or at all? Is the government going to reimburse me for having to put my life on the line or the losses I sustain from not engaging threats? And when it comes to the safety of customers, don’t we all pay income taxes, property taxes, etc?

As a restaurant owner I am forced to charge an additional sales tax and meals tax for every purchase. If I make a good product that people are willing to pay for, the government profits off of my labor. The more I make, the more they make. In fact, the government makes more off of my business than I do. How does that make sense? They also don’t pay me a dime to collect their tax. What’s even more wild is if I don’t pay them the tax I collect for them by a certain day each month, they charge me interest & penalties. Tell me how this is any different from the mafia. Small businesses should ban together and refuse to collect their taxes.

I don't know what the fuss is about. Anthropic's rules on using subscriptions are very simple: Claude Code = OK Claude's online platform = OK Agent SDK running in personal software = OK... ish? Agent SDK running in commercial software = NOT OK Claude Code running in CI = ?? Oh, maybe it's not so simple... Agent SDK running in CI = ?? claude -p running in CI = ?? claude -p running in personal software = OK claude -p running on open source software, but run on my personal computer = ?? claude -p running on distributed sandboxes, kicked off by me = ?? Distributing open source software which relies on claude -p, and documenting how to use your subscription with it = ?? A thousand other edge cases = ?? Let me be clear. I have never before experienced, from any developer tool, such a frustrating lack of clarity over the basic terms of usage. I personally asked, 3 weeks ago, and have received nothing but delays. The recent @bcherny announcement did absolutely nothing to clarify things. I say this as someone who just released a Claude Code course - my incentives all align with supporting Anthropic.

This is very very sad and very real. The new generation has zero room to actually shoot their shot without it being completely dissected, analyzed, and broadcast to the entire world. Every fumble, rejection, cringe ackward moment, can be blasted to the entire Earth to be mocked and made fun of, and it lives on the Internet forever. So what happens? The men give up. They quiet quit. They don't date, they become "incels", they got mocked for even THAT, and they say screw it and give up. The response to this can sometimes be "Well, those men suck anyways, beta!" or something similar. But the reality is the countrywide and even global birthrates are falling off of a cliff, its not just the "incels", it's everyone, and these societal incentives (clout over connection), lead to ideological differences that even end up becoming political. So the young man (and probably even some women tbh) decide screw it and just opt-out of societal participation. Because they have no room for error to be a spaz or cringe, because they're so worried about their worst moments being posted on social, or being cancelled by someone for being weird and unskilled in social situations, they just decide its not worth the risk and give up. No idea what turns this around. If you have ideas, share them. But this is a very real, very unfortunate, and SUPER SAD situation. It really really sucks to be young right now. It is not a fun time, the tools of technology, the ideological/political climate, the economy, the incentives, the everything have failed you and set you up for defeat. Your feelings are valid. youtube.com/watch?v=eRrNP7…
