@AutismCapital I was wondering if it’s okay to kill someone’s father, mother, wife, children, and relatives just because that person holds completely different social and political beliefs, lives on the other side of the Earth, and hasn't posed any direct threats?

So the US went to Iran and killed Khamenei, his wife, his daughter, his cousins, his nephews, his grandchildren, his barber, his hookah packer, yet we somehow left his son alive who is now the ruler of Iran? He’s totally not pissed or anything right? He’s going to work with us?😂

@naval The system you're calling a 'free market' is actually anarchism. Fiat does not originate from socialism. Your attempt to label fiat as 'socialist' seems to be a biased attack and shows a clear misunderstanding of socialism.

In 1971, money changed from a natural system (gold) to a socialist system (fiat). Crypto is tech to replace socialist money with a free-market system. Market systems are inherently competitive and as tech evolves, new monies will continue to emerge to challenge existing ones.

the r1 drop should be setting off alarm bells in the entire western capitalist apparatus. for the first time in a while, i’m genuinely afraid the u.s. is losing its dominance—its influence, its capacity to innovate, & its ability to outcompete on a global scale. the core issue isn’t just regulatory capture or bureaucratic inertia. the real problem is also the managerial class: a bloated, risk-averse, overpaid, over glorified layer that’s systematically dismantled the mechanisms that once made the u.s. competitive. meta is a great example of this (look at what happened with llama)—that’s with a founder running it, now imagine google where there is a professional manager running it & 5k vp’s underneath. meanwhile, china is surging ahead. it’s not just drones or now a world-class ai model; it’s the entire ecosystem. robots are building other robots at scale. their tech is cheap, effective, & ubiquitous. the world’s supply chain—its manufacturing core—is de facto chinese. china isn’t just catching up; it’s scaling the future. if the west continues down this path—short-term thinking, managerial inefficiency, & a refusal to prioritize strategic innovation—it risks becoming irrelevant in the face of a system designed for precision & long-term dominance. this isn’t just a challenge; it’s an existential threat to western economic & technological leadership.

@balajis Cleanup efforts are probably for APEC as a whole. Why did you insist on framing this as an ideological issue? Your perspective seems flawed. Also what’s wrong with engaging in business and developing dialogue with China?

@balajis I'm curious if you've previously visited China and to what extent you're familiar with it. Your perspective seems to be influenced by stereotypes and a biased understanding of China.

Now, I fully grant that Chinese state media “welcoming more Newsoms to come”[1] isn’t yet an official announcement of more Newsoms to come. I further grant that Newsom announcing that he wants to be “China's long-term, stable and strong partner”[2] does not yet mean that he is China’s long-term, stable, and strong partner. But you gotta admit, it is suggestive.[3] [1]: english.news.cn/20231027/fbab3… [2]: chinatoday.com.cn/ctenglish/2018… [3]: fmprc.gov.cn/eng/zxxx_66280…

Why is SF suddenly clean? Why is Xi suddenly in SF? And why is Newsom suddenly smiling with Xi? Perhaps we're about to see the mother of all pivots, where Democrats make peace with Communists — and everyone else is left holding the bag. balajis.com/p/only-newsom-…

@r_huang888 @notXiangyu Would it provide a more accurate reflection of the original meaning if substitute "humanity" with "sense of shame"?

@shaunrein Always value your unbiased insights about China. But not sure if you realize that the last few words you said in this video may lead some to question your past viewpoints: Were external pressures influencing your ability to provide a balanced perspective of China?

@RepRitchie @CmteOnCCPDems @UyghurProject Every human being should fight against any genocide. While your intentions might be good, have you done your due diligence to verify the accuracy of claims before proposing this bill? A visit to Xinjiang could provide firsthand insight into the realities of Uyghur life there.

The CCP's ongoing genocide of the Uyghur people is a crime against humanity that's too grave to ignore. We have a special obligation to galvanize the U.S. government and the international community to confront the CCP's clear intent to destroy the existence of the Uyghur people.

@balajis @RonenV The “facts” you referred to are debatable. If you are looking for an honest answer, don’t just rely on sources from MSM in the West. You also probably need to research why China wants the unification.

@RonenV Agree, though several things happened since then — Hong Kong, the lab leak, Xi establishing total control for life, the economic trajectories of both countries, and internal political polarization within the US that makes China the one bipartisan issue. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/…

Not too long ago, Americans didn’t really care about Taiwan. For example, in 2011 this NYT oped proposed that the US sell Taiwan to China for $1T in debt forgiveness. archive.is/fmQR9

@yangsteve @NiMingda_GG Are S Korea and Japan considered sovereign independent? They are under significant U.S. influence/control,e.g., economy, politics, and military. It would be naive to think the containment of China is mainly due to ideological reasons.

Mistakes all men made. But he was not man, he was god back then. But when Liu, Shaoqi, the President of China conducted a thorough investigation and reported back to Mao and pointed out Mao’s grave or actually quite stupid errors, he was persecuted instead of being rewarded for his valuable and candid insights, and eventually died in an inhumane way, not to mention the tragedies incurred to his family and many others who associated with Liu and millions who also perished during the Cultural Revolution that Mao has instigated. A system that worships a person, instead of basing on the rules of law, no matter how saint that person is now, deems to repeat such tragedies. No question about how but questions about when. This is fundamental difference between autocracy and democracy. Propagandists wanted you to believe that it was China’s rise that scared shit out of the Americans also America and the West want to contain China, an easy sell to the innocent Chinese population who live inside the Great Information Firewall, isn’t it? But those who have known better know better. Just take a look in the American consumer market, how many high end products are from China? Samsung electronics, Japanese cars and cameras, Taiwan’s semis are omnipresent in every corner of American life, did anyone worry about them taking over American industries? None. Why won’t they?

@thecyrusjanssen We don’t know if it has been adequately communicated between the two governments. But how the US media and politicians guided public opinion about this incident is just unbelievable. No calm and critical thinking but assumptions based on hostility and illusion.

The recent #ChineseSpyBalloon saga is going to hamper US China relations in the short term. The relationship is already strained and the American public's perception of China is going to become even worse. China dropped the ball with a lack of communication. Let's break it down

@thecyrusjanssen Get your own conclusion about the genocide accusation by checking these numbers: the average Uyghurs’ standard of living improvement(population, education, job, economic growth, and religion). Also, don’t forget to compare the numbers in your own country(minorities and natives)

Last month USA imports from #Xinjiang rose to a two year high and now the EU report their imports from XJ have doubled. The West has hammered XJ with sanctions and claims of forced labor but follow the data...the world needs China & its exports. We live in a global economy #China
