There is no excuse that Africa still lacks permanent representation on the Security Council.
I will keep working with the @_AfricanUnion and all @UN Member Countries to ensure the representation Africa needs – including with two permanent members.

Many of you will be aware of the shameful decision to run Kieran Fogarty’s sentence for killing Joe Drennan concurrent to the 8 yrs he got for another conviction, meaning he effectively isn’t serving time for a fatal hit and run. Please sign & share.😞

#Gaza is in crisis: 70% of infrastructure, 60% of homes, 65% of roads are gone.
@UNOPS is commited to immediate aid & long-term rebuilding: restoring power, water, hospitals, schools, shelters & roads.
“Rapid, unhindered & safe passage for aid is non-negotiable” - @UNOPS_Chief

You're in luck, Sara. For decades now, people in Gaza have been saying they would like to move, voluntarily, to the places from which they--or their parents or grandparents--were expelled. I don't think they should be prevented from doing so either.
Dr. Sara Yael Hirschhorn 🎗@SaraHirschhorn1
The world allows voluntarily migration - people move countries all the time for money, love, even sunny weather. Why prevent Gazans from leaving if they are willing to be tax-paying, law-abiding, visa/citizenship holding people somewhere else on the planet IF THEY WANT TO?

This Palestinian boy, Adel Sobeih, was abducted from Al Shifa Hospital and released today as part of the hostage exchange. He had two legs when the Israeli army kidnapped him.

What are the sponsors who gave their word that Israel is committed to implementing the signed agreements going to do now?
The three Israeli prisoners were released, but Israel refused to engage in talks to implement the second phase, refused to allow the entry of tents & mobile units to provide some shelter, & also reneged on allowing heavy equipment to enable the clearing of the rubble & the digging out of over 10,000 Palestinians bodies buried there.

At the end of a week in which two Jerusalem booksellers were taken into custody and many of their books impounded, Sunday Times columnist Matthew Syed announces that Israel is the home of free speech.

I strongly condemn the attack on a @UNIFIL_ convoy in Beirut, in which several peacekeepers were injured by a group of protestors on the main road to the airport.
Such attacks are absolutely unacceptable. The perpetrators must be held accountable.

The ceasefire has enabled humanitarian organisations to bring welcome aid to #Gaza and stop the deepening of the hunger.
UNRWA teams have reached on estimate over 1.5 million people with critical food assistance since it began.
Yet, "the needs are huge for the population in Gaza. They need absolutely everything" tells @UNLazzarini to @AJ.
UNRWA must be supported to continue delivering.
