@WellBuiltStyle Entertainment room by far. The gym and library sound nice and I could brag about having them but that's it... I certainly wouldnt use them 😅

An 20-year-old Canadian girl won $1M (tax free in Canada) in the lottery and chose $1,000/week instead of the lump sum. Is this wise or the worst financial decision of her life? What are you doing when this happens to you??

@KootenayPe @RobynUrback @StephanieLevitz BS. Urback has done her share. From "women problem" to attack dog" to "waterboys" to her cheering on the Faux majority, a majority that should be a relief to Poilievre. And have you seen Levitz on CTV panels?

Yes it is extremely weird for the CBC to be spending public dollars this way but I think I am most offended by the fact that the whole thing sounds criminally unfunny
Jonathan Kay@jonkay

that CBC-funded “prank” didn’t just target pundits. In @Quillette, I report on their efforts to mock a humble 82-yr-old Brockville granddad who enjoys 19th-c historical re-enanctments. Producers repeatedly lied to him for months, then exploited his trust quillette.com/2026/05/15/a-d…

@JJ_McCullough It'd be interesting to see votes by region. My guess, Quebec = not enough, Ontario/Atlantic = just right and the west= too much

In your opinion, do Canadian politicians give the province of Quebec the right amount of attention, too much attention, or not enough attention?

@hogsontop @kirkneverdied Alright yea, that song amazing, lol. There's a lot to it that's good. Just me personally, a movie needs plot/characters that are solid. That to me, is the engine without that, it all falls apart

@curiousgeroge2 @kirkneverdied Would definitely encourage you to look up the soundtrack on whatever music platform you use to refresh your memory. The individual one that I love the most is called “Time” by Hans Zimmer. It’s great and you’ll probably remember it when you hear it.

@curiousgeroge2 @kirkneverdied I thought it was a wildly creative and interesting premise of a movie. It’s like a heist movie but in other peoples dreams. I thought it had great pacing, great cinematography, great performances, and the score by Hans Zimmer is one of my all time favorites.

@FoodProfessor No! We don't have to wait for the other side. This is mercantilist thinking. Unilateral free trade is the way to go. If Americans want to subsidize their milk for me, I'm more than happy to drink it.

About CUSMA and dairy... Canada protects dairy mainly through supply management: quotas, controlled pricing, and very high tariffs on imports. But what is often overlooked is that the U.S. dairy sector is also heavily protected, but through subsidies, federal pricing systems, insurance programs, and trade rules instead of quotas. So the U.S. market is not a true free market either, but Canada’s dairy import barriers are generally considered more restrictive. It’s true the U.S. wants greater access to Canada’s dairy market under Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement, while Canadian producers argue access should go both ways. The idea of gradually lowering barriers over time is realistic, but both countries would need to agree on fair reciprocal access.

@curiousgeroge2 @limitingpatrick @PaulSkallas @PerryALPHA why would i need to rewatch it? i have seen it plenty of times its a low budget indie thriller that pushes the genre in an inventive way you can tell the director has strong voice and command of craft and will go on to big things

Christopher Nolan is considered a great director today because cinema is terrible now. Back when he first came out 20-25 years ago he was just another ok director. No one thought he was one of the best. He was just decent, among other decent and some much better directors. There are two ways to rise in the world. Do good work. Or wait until things collapse and they will call you great.

@CrackedCopy @kirkneverdied They're the blockbusters, kinda like the avatar movies. I watch enough movies to know what id like or dislike but most people don't. They go see 1 or 2 movies everybody else does and kinda get convinced they like them..

@curiousgeroge2 @kirkneverdied Marketing aside, do you think it makes sense that people would be bored by his movies and still show up in record numbers for his latest movie? ”Yeah, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk and Tenet were all kind of shit imo, but I’m still seeing Oppenheimer in theaters.”

@curiousgeroge2 @kirkneverdied Interesting. I would really encourage you to try and watch the whole thing through. Still might not be for you but I was so blown away the first time I watched it all the way through that I watched it again the very next day.

@CrackedCopy @kirkneverdied Truly a masterstroke of marketers. I saw it in theaters and most people looked bored. Not really his fault tho, more the subject matter

@kirkneverdied Interstellar, it's probably his better/best movie even then, the visuals were awesome, you can geek out with the science parts of it but other than that.. it's kinda a boring movie, lol. None of the characters were really good..

@curiousgeroge2 Tenet is widely regarded as his worst or one of his worst films. But suggesting people are pretending to like Memento, Prestige, Inception, Interstellar and Oppenheimer is a head scratching hill to die on.

@kirkneverdied I doubt most people like his movies. Except the Batman movies, I've never seen anyone want to rewatch them, lol. They seemed boring during them then convice someselves after they liked it. Tenet, I swear people just wanna seem smart and sophisticated, when it just makes no sense

@curiousgeroge2 It's ok to not be into someone's work. But you not liking something does not make it "true." In particular when you're saying flame hot takes with no acknowledgement that it's a contrarian opinion.

Far too many people do not seem to understand that Canada is a predominantly left-leaning country and that is not Poilievre's fault.

@Imravnos @kirkneverdied Beside the music being too loud, it makes no sense, they spend the first 30 minutes having to meet people who need the guy to meet other people, lol Exposition dumps go nowhere too! Not to mention the whole "it's you in reverse" thing make no sense, watch the Pitch Meeting of it
