Bro just started Attack on Titan and I swear I had to finish Season 1 in one night. Now I’m halfway through Season 2 and WTF IS GOING ON??? 🔥🔥🔥 This is easily, aside Naruto, the best anime I’ve ever seen with my own two eyes. I can’t predict anything. Charlie's murder was a violation of God's divine order, not Erika Kirk's. Erika does not have the authority to forgive him. She sinned against God by forgiving him without his repentence. No theologian would have agreed with the outrageous suggestion that we unconditionally forgive those who abuse and murder our family members. Much less those who abuse, torment, cancel, and persecute us. They would have regarded it as outrageous. In fact, it is a grave sin. A crime. Now, some say the Lord's Prayer preaches unconditional forgiveness. But this is a lie. Read it: "Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us." (Luke 11:4) Tell me, my dear illimitably beloved audience, where it says we must forgive others unconditionally? This becomes even more clear when we read other passages in Luke. For example, this one: "Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him." (Luke 17:3–4) Seven sins. Seven times repented. Seven times forgiven. Where's the unconditional forgiveness? WHERE'S YOUR HIPPIE JESUS NOW? I am not the only one who interprets Luke in this way. Here is what John Calvin (1509-1564 AD) says about Luke 17: "For when Christ enjoins us to forgive our brethren when they repent, he clearly teaches that we are not to grant forgiveness to those who are impenitent... But as it is required of the faithful to admonish and reprove those who sin, so also they ought to forgive those who repent." (Institutes of the Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 4, Section 26) "WE ARE NOT TO GRANT FORGIVENESS TO THOSE WHO ARE IMPENITENT" Don't trust Calvin? Here's Augustine (354-430 AD) on the same passage: "If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' forgive him. But if he does not repent, do not forgive him in such a way as to receive him back into fellowship without correction." (Sermon 211 [On the Lord's Prayer]) "IF HE DOES NOT REPENT, DO NOT FORGIVE HIM" It seems that we have strong agreement here. Neither does the martyrdom of Stephen save us, as some retards say. In fact, it is further evidence for my point. As he was being stoned to death, Stephen cried out: "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." (Acts 7:60) Stephen deferred to God's authority, whose divine order was violated. Stephen did not unilaterally forgive those who murdered him. STEPHEN DEFERRED TO GOD'S AUTHORITY, NOT HIS OWN. HE DID NOT FORGIVE HIS MURDERERS. Now some will say, what about Jesus on the cross? Didn't he forgive those who persecuted him? No, he didn't, actually, if you'll read the actual Bible: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34) JESUS DEFERRED TO GOD'S AUTHORITY, NOT HIS OWN. HE DID NOT FORGIVE HIS MURDERERS. Why is this? It is because a sin is not a sin because it hurts us. A sin is a sin because it violates God's order. There is no extra residue of "what was done to us, apart from what was done to God's creation." We cannot forgive any trespass against us unless the sinner repents and God forgives them. We follow God, not what we want. Augustine agrees on this point, elsewhere citing this passage from the Old Testament: "Against You, You only [God], have I sinned." (Psalm 54:4) We do not sin against man. We sin against God. So think about it. How can you forgive another human, independent of God? Forgive them for what? For sinning against God? You forgiving them for what they did to God? That's just not for you to do. Unless you're a confused pagan. Now I'm not saying this country is filled with confused pagans who call themselves Christians, but... Let's try Basil the Great (330-379 AD): "Those who have sinned against God, we ought not to receive until they have made satisfaction through repentance and confession." (Long Rules, Question 46) How about Aquinas (1225-1275 AD)? Fat Tom says: "For the forgiveness of mortal sin, it is necessary to have actual sorrow for sin with the purpose of avoiding it, which purpose is an act of the will." Therefore I will put forward the following idea: The idea that we should unconditionally and unilaterally forgive those who sin is nihilism. It puts man, not God, at the center of the moral universe. Man is not the center of the moral universe. God is. And anyone who says otherwise is a retard. I don't care if it is the Pope. We have had some retarded Popes. That said, Pope John Paul II did say: "In no passage of the gospel message does forgiveness, or mercy as its source, mean indulgence toward evil, toward scandals, toward injury or insult. In any case, reparation for evil and scandal, compensation for injury, and satisfaction for insult are conditions for forgiveness." [Dives in Misericordia] "ARE CONDITIONS FOR FORGIVENESS" Now let me run through a series of counterarguments before pivoting back through the Church Fathers. Then I will deliver the coup-de-grace. Oh yes. FIRST, you do not need to forgive in order to rid yourself of resentment. Nor does forgiveness rid one of resentment. Resentment is normally washed away in the course of time. The heart does not follow the will. I am afraid that this is something we have been lied to about. Nor is the exhortation to love one's enemy at odds with not forgiving those who commit sins and injure us. You can both love and pray for your enemy's salvation, while not forgiving them. (In fact, I believe that loving and praying for one's enemies while working to bring them to justice is a much better way to deal with resentment than saying, "but but but muh I forgive.") You can be open to forgiving them. You can have grace. You can be free of hatred. And you should. Without forgiving them. Their salvation, after all, is the thing that is important, not your feelings about resentment anyway. And if you really think they are going to hell, there are no feelings of resentment anyway. So it flies in the face both of common sense and of God. And it is selfish. Again, why are you focusing on your own fee-fees when it is THEY who are going to burn in hellfire? It's because you don't really believe, isn't it? Isn't it? There's more. Let's churn through a bunch of Bible passages. They make clear the importance of repentance: "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you... If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a sinner." (Matthew 18:15–17) Let him be to you as a Gentile and a sinner! "John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins." (Mark 1:4) "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins..." (Acts 2:38). "For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow." (Corinthians 2:6–7) Now the great theologians: "He commands always to forgive the brother who asks his brother’s forgiveness." (Augustine, Homilies on the First Epistle of John) "What is, ‘If he shall hear thee’? If he shall condemn himself, if he shall be persuaded that he has done wrong." (John Chrysostom, Homily 60 on Matthew 18:15) "One who hath sinned and repented must be received." (Shepherd of Hermas, Mandate 4) "According to Luke, Christ expressly enjoins us to be satisfied with a private reproof, if the brother be brought to repentance." (John Calvin, Commentary on Matthew 14) "They who have repented from their whole heart, and have asked for it, ought to be received within the Church." (Cyprian of Carthage, Epistle 51) "When he shall have worthily shown the fruits of repentance, let him be received in the tenth year." (Basil the Great, Canonical Letters) "As many as were communicants, if they heartily repent, shall pass three years among the hearers." (First Council of Nicaea, Canon 11) THE COUP-DE-GRACE Now, the Fathers insist we must renounce hatred and be READY to forgive, NOT forgive. It is even right to say: "Lord, forgive them." This is all well and good. And again, I insist that forgiving when it is not deserved is simply NOT man's place WITHOUT repentance. But it goes deeper than that. Erika Kirk is not simply a widow. She is a spiritual leader. She wrote the speech and consulted with her friends. And as a spiritual leader, she essentially said, "Everything is OK." She didn't ask God to forgive the murderer. She did. Well, it's not OK. It's like denying what happened. And it short-circuited justice and undermined the community's moral seriousness. Again, we are back to no moral conviction. Again. No up down right left. Which direction is which? Charlie's murderer does not deserve forgiveness. He has not repented. And if Erika wanted to pray for him, fine. Pray. But she knew she was setting the standard. And her public statement suggested repentance is not necessary for forgiveness, which leads others astray, blurring lines of sin and accountability. She taught her audience to disregard divine order, repentance, and justice. So even if I am wrong to call unconditional forgiveness sinful (and I don't think I am), then Kirk certainly meets the standard for the sin of active scandal. The media is frightened by Christian Nationalism, yes? But in fact, it's a joke, unless by Christian you mean pop-evangelical with no depth and just vibes. This is the future of our country we're talking about. And we're still in one big coalition of leaders with no backbones. It's one black pill after another. If this is Christian nationalism, then we are following Boomer Hippie Vibes Jesus, and this unserious, confused bullshit is going to get a lot more people killed.

Yesterday when Erica Kirk publicly forgave Charlie Kirk’s shooter that assassinated him… I must be frank with you… It is totally, messing with my mind right now. It’s like… My “head” gets it logically… But my heart feels something different. My heart is screaming… “Are you serious? How does she get to ‘forgiveness’ that quickly?” This ONE moment yesterday on stage is making me ask these questions below… “Do I always need an apology from another person before I forgive them?” “Why does that one condition (getting an apology) need to be personally present for me to be able to forgive a person who wronged me?” “Isn’t forgiveness considered ‘weakness’ because it allows you to be run over, and taken advantage all the time?” “Where does ‘justice’ happen in all of this?” As I sit here… I pray for clarity. I pray for discernment. I pray for your input. I pray for a deeper understanding about what @MrsErikaKirk did in front of the entire world yesterday… Because right now… I am still personally struggling with this. All I can think of is this: We live in a world where people want “revenge” and want to “get even” with those who wrong them. And then… Erika goes on stage and completely smacks us in the face with something we NEVER saw coming. I’m still trying to process it all.
