@butala_aryan @robotaxi Oh wow nice, I will be on the lookout and will look to get a ride day 1. I assume the initial geofence will be near the airport where there service center is located?

@butala_aryan @robotaxi You heard this from a rep at the San Antonio service center? Have you seen any Robotaxi vehicles testing in the San Antonio area?

Tesla has received zoning approval for a new Robotaxi charging facility in San Antonio, Texas with 56 charging stalls for autonomous cabs. This facility would be used for Tesla’s private fleet and not open to the general public. The City Council will have the final vote for approval at a future date. Tesla also wants to build a similar facility near San Antonio International Airport.

Not to be that guy, but this is right before earnings...again. This happened with Dallas and Houston last quarter and 94 days after those launches Tesla is still ~5-10 active vehicles in those locations. Just something to keep in mind $TSLA

Honestly at this rate, and with geofences being this small to start, they should be up and running in almost every city in America with a similar geofence by now. That is the only way they can achieve serious scale in 2 years. Either that or they need to significantly speed up the process

This is good progress, but the geofences are really small. Probably around 20 sq mi. With this size, the service is not really intended to be usable, they are probably just using the launch to get the logistics up and running.

@EricETesla @Starlink Does including Starlink allow the vehicle to be connected in any scenario including tunnels/underground? I can see that being critical for teleops

@WorldlyReviewer I wonder if that's why cybercab might be delayed. Maybe they're waiting to launch the v3 satellites to enable better connectivity before scaling?

Just in: This slide from Tesla's Q2 2026 shareholder deck leaked. Elon will be announcing "new vehicles, including more affordable models, will utilize aspects of the next generation platform as well as aspects of our current platforms, and will be able to be produced on the same manufacturing lines as our current vehicle line-up." "This would help us fully utilize our current expected maximum capacity of close to three million vehicles, enabling more than 50% growth over 2023 production before investing in new manufacturing lines."

@mikepat711 It's cool that there are so many of them. But the fact that they're being manually driven around a closed test track is not very impressive

Cool but I don’t care about the cybercabs you’re driving around the parking lot at the office anymore. Enough hype. Ship it or fall back fam. Love you but the balls are as blue as they can get at this point. Send in the bots

Robotaxi availability has been awful today. High service demand except 1-2 rides here and there. The rains have basically stopped in Austin too

@GreenTexanEV @DavidMoss @MarcoRPi1 @scotsrule08 My guess is probably the prominent flooding that’s been going on here? That was the reason why Waymo stopped their service as well, and they’ve been paused for close to 3 months now
