There is zero data to suggest Iran is going to agree to reopen the Strait without making money off of it. And/but, if somehow they did, all that would happen is that they would sell a bunch of oil, undermining the main hope many American officials see now to end/win the conflict, which is to strangle Tehran economically. So really, in some ways, the last thing in the world Trump should want is to reopen the Strait. Unless he can have the Pentagon (with or without allies, but probably without, let's be honest) both blockade the Strait to stop Iran from using it, and escore U.S.-friendly cargo through. Which, good luck with that.

The stunning thing about this pile-on re: Fauci by a handful of GOP senators is the total lack of interest by these supposedly outraged senators at the person who had the power at the time. Fauci gave recommendations. Trump’s the one who had all the power. Their lack of interest in Trump’s role is an obvious tell. This is manufactured nonsense.
