While we are discussing physical abuse, let’s not forget verbal abuse. The reason we see many young people with severe cases of low self esteem is because they had parents who made them feel absolutely worthless.

We just found out my neighbor who we thought has been missing since he told us he’s traveling for holiday to Togo is in jail for calling a woman Ashewo. Apparently while on vacation at the hotel he was staying,an argument broke out between him and a lady and like how most Nigerian men call women “Ashewo” when they’ve no meaningful thing to say to her, this my neighbor called the lady “Ashewo” and the authority was called on him. Calling a woman Ashewo is a criminal offense in TOGO if you can’t prove it that she’s an Ashewo and they treat all punishments the same in Togo and he was thrown into jail, he’s supposed to have resumed work and he’s serving a jail term in Togo. That serves him right anyways

My team and I are proud to share that today is the last day of the Pan-African Innovation Boot Camp where our Aguata champions are making us proud. As a part of the closing activities, our champions made final submission and presentation of their research projects, with the facilitators expressing delight on how fast they grasped AI tools and fuctionalities. In expression of pride for positively representing Nigeria, our champions were visited by the Nigerian High Commissioner to Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, represented by the Head of Political, Information and Culture department, Zerah Waminaje. As we await the arrival of our champions back to Aguata, we are confident of their readiness to pursue greatness, alongside the previous finalists of the Aguata Best Student Challenge. Super congratulations to our champions. May the light we have ignited in them never dim.
