@seeingmole @mariekeflament Sorry, 50 miles outside of Tokyo and haven't needed a car.
English

@dalger2001 @mariekeflament If one goes out of the center, a car becomes quite essential. Japan isn't indeed the futuristic place it used to be like 20 years ago. Time has pretty much stood still. China has now become this futuristic place.
English

Just back from three weeks in China + Japan — back to back. The contrast was sharper than I expected and eye opening.
I recently wrote about China, this is now about Japan.
Japan: 43 million tourists a year. A currency that has lost a third of its value in five years. Less than 2% EV adoption. And streets that are somehow completely spotless with almost no public bins.
Japan is a country of fascinating paradoxes — 20 years later and after a week in China, I saw it with eyes I wouldn't have had otherwise. Five things I can't stop thinking about, including why Japan's "cheapness" is not a travel deal, but a symptom of something much bigger. 👇

Buying a house using @usbank is a fucking nightmare.
USBank: We need this info
Me: Ok here it is
USB: We're still waiting on that info
Me: It was sent 3 days ago
USB: We need this 2nd part
Me: Yup it was in the email
USB: But what about the first part?
Me: Yup in the same email

@gregogallagher The new pill one? Foundayo?
They are safe or have to wait longer for more data to come out?
English

@usbank @deesophiee7 Had nothing but bad experiences with US Bank. Avoid them at all costs.

@HTLGTM He isn't trying. All he would have to do is go in with punches are her off balance kicks.

@AJA_Cortes The "secret" techniques are pretty open. They work rather well. They are a basic part of karate and jujitsu training. Not flashy. Not interesting.
Strikes to the hollow of the neck, groin, knee, solar plexus - can all stop an attacker pretty fast.
English

@usbank Avoid. US Bank is mostly incompetent. Opened an account with them. Brought documents to their local branch. Received card and a week later they unverified the card.
Wasted an hour going to the branch and waiting. Was considering moving other accounts to them. Now won't move any

Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed authority that has rested with Congress for centuries. The American people already know that tariffs make building and buying here at home more expensive. And Kentuckians understand this painful reality better than most. But the use of IEEPA to circumvent Congress in the imposition of tariffs, already without precedent, isn’t just bad policy – it’s also illegal. My full statement: mcconnell.senate.gov/public/index.c…

@cositamosha_fan Equal rights. He has the right to expect the same from you. That being said, he should have just moved on.
His closing was unnecessary and rude.

“Entonces ponle precio a tu compañía y busca clientes, no pareja”.
Ahí terminó la cita.
Más allá de estar o no de acuerdo con su postura…
¿Era válido su argumento o cruzó una línea de respeto?
¿Pedir estabilidad económica en una pareja es interés o es una expectativa legítima?

Fluency isn’t when you stop making mistakes.
It’s when mistakes stop stopping you.

@SenSanders His business. He can do what he wants with it. How is the work on term limits coming along?
English

@ThatYuta No, different. 1 is a question. 2 assumes the answer and puts pressure on the person being asked.
1 is polite. 2 is slightly rude unless you know the person and that they are interested.

@robstersauce @CigsMake Look up his West Point Study and how effective his circuit routine was for cadets (both Cardio and Strength). It was called Project Total Conditioning.
English

@dalger2001 @CigsMake That's fair. Circuit training with weights or machines is great.
Absent that context, it really sounds like OP is saying strength training takes care of your cardio.
English

@robstersauce @CigsMake You do realize he his talking about circuit training were you go from machine to machine in about 30 seconds or less?
English

I love weights, but this is bullshit. You can disprove this to yourself with an extremely simple experiment:
- Only lift weights for a few months
- Try to run 3 miles
- Or do 100 burpees
- Or an hour of jiu jitsu
- Or anything
I’m not a doctor but I’m pretty sure that completely fucked feeling is your cardio.

@Microinteracti1 @bill61262 And it meant that Europe could invest more in social security programs and less in their military since the U.S. was positioned to do the heavy defense spending. Then Europe spent even less than agreed to on defense.
English

@bill61262 The US chose to put them there. Europe agreed because it suited Washington’s agenda: having forward bases makes it easier to launch interventions, bomb countries, and then stumble through wars it ends up losing anyway.
English

Donald Trump: “NATO is nothing without America.”
Meloni: “Perfect. Then Europe will close the U.S. bases, tear up the sweetheart trade deals, and, just to make the message land, boycott McDonald’s too.”
That is the blunt reality: if Washington wants to talk like protection is a one way favor, Europe can answer like a partner with leverage, not a dependent begging for permission.
And honestly, that tone is long overdue. When someone says “you are nothing without me,” the correct reply is not gratitude. It is boundaries.
English

@Microinteracti1 She is being facetious. You don't seriously think she wants to storm McDonald's?
