@dame_world @MelissaReddy_ If you read the article it says at the start of the season the words transition and process weren't being used. People inside the club were talking about dominance about how last summer would never be repeated. The entire narrative has been rewritten to protect this manager.

You don’t need someone to come out and yell at you”ITS A TRANSITION SEASON” Common sense should be able to tell you that. Sack Slot, bring in Alonso or whoever, we will still be here. UCL qualification and maybe a domestic trophy win will still be the most realistic objective until we get the right players in and build a squad that can compete

@dame_world @MelissaReddy_ I generally get what you’re saying and are right with some of it especially in terms of spending.But no one was suggesting this was transitional season at the start of the season.And with transitions seasons, you would see expect some sort improvement as the season went on

How can you tweet this and not take into consideration the players on the pitch and the fact that we ended the half with the same xG as them? And again, this tweet demonstrates a misunderstanding of the OOP game-model, Slot does not mind the first-line of pressure being bypassed, clearly evidenced by the +1 in the backline.

After the initially flurry, Liverpool have lost the tactical battle and have been pinned in by this terrible Chelsea team under an inexperienced interim coach, at Anfield. The coach is pretty obviously a dead man walking due to his out of possession principles.

The reason why United created so much xG and we didn’t is because they generated most of their chances in the transition phase. We had to create our ‘chances’ from settled possession, where there is less space and the game-model becomes dependant on your forwards giving you dynamism to get into the box, we had one forward on the pitch. We dominate ball possession, United controlled space because they could protect it knowing we had no real way of exploiting their space, they had lots of space to run into due to spaces that are there when you’re camped in the opponents half trying to break in. There was no tactical outclassing on United’s part but rather favourable game conditions in which they didn’t even make the most of.

No he wouldn’t He had literally the same squad in 23/24 and we dropped off during the run in and couldn’t beat Atalanta in the UEL. I know you guys have an agenda against Slot but Slot bringing some control to this team (inevitably reducing intensity) played a key part in us winning the league and some players having their best seasons in a LFC shirt. The team dint need another season of gengenpressing

Well said. Sacking Slot without fixing the underlying issues in the squad just puts us back in the same position. Without proper recruitment, the coach will still rely on VVD, Konaté, Mac Allister, and Gravenberch. That said, with a better structure, their weaknesses can definitely be managed.

Today was further evidence (if you needed any already) of why the club pulled the plug on Salah's big contract. And if he continues to perform the way he did today, I would argue they will also look at Virgil van Dijk's big contract. You cannot be getting paid the big bucks and doing what those two did today. And before you all gazzump me with "its Arne Slots fault because of xyz" just know that I am done caring whether he stays or goes. My biggest concern right now is that these players are MASSIVELY underperforming. They can hide behind Slot for now, but when he is gone, serious questions will start to be asked.
