@TheRickyDavila The embarrassment factor is greatly underestimated. We were taught to be proud of the President but even Reagan and Bush Jr didn’t degrade the office like Trump has.

@mariashriver I'm puzzled. We've been told for decades now by feminists that men and women are the same and that all differences between men and woman are socially constructed.
Now you're claiming women have special health needs?
Make it make sense.
English

Every woman, I repeat, every woman of every age, every color, every political affiliation should condemn this, should raise their voice about this, should be terrified about this. Just a few short months ago women’s health advocates were optimistic for the first time in generations, today we should be alarmed. Women’s health research cannot afford to be cancelled like this, our lives are on the line.

@TalbertSwan We are just four days apart, Bishop, I’ll be 66 on the 28th. I like your posts; you are the type of Christian I can respect!
English

And just like that… I’m 60 today.
Grateful for the journey, the lessons, the legacy, and the love.
Still standing, still growing, still walking in purpose.
Happy Birthday to me — April 24

@ianrich15813274 @atrupar Clearly the US has peaked as a great power, that is inevitable. What wasn’t inevitable was the stupidity, the crassness, the venality—and the indifference of 2/3 of the electorate to all of it.
English

@atrupar America is soon going to learn the cost of re-electing a moron who thinks you can effectively govern with just insults & threats.
English

@RichardHanania I think we have to make peace with the fact that we do not have a conservative movement anymore (you could argue neither do we have a liberal movement).
We have two parties who firmly represent the fringes of each movement.
There are few if any good choices at the moment. 😒
English

@bbuckley88 @RichardHanania You’re an idiot and a hateful person-but probably a Russian bot.
English

@RichardHanania Remember the DNC is most responsible for the Trump Presidency. They offered Kamala to make sure Trump won
English

@wysassygirl @RichardHanania @BillKristol Oh jeez you’re an idiot. Long game from the guy he had to cheat and steal from suppliers and still had multiple bankruptcies.
English

@RichardHanania There was no better alternative given the choices.
English

@RasmusJarlov @kgbrah You’re extremely patient with these idiots.
English

@RasmusJarlov @Gobirds108 Hey Mr. Jarlov, we Americans aren’t all idiots like the fellow you’re responding to, but given that we’ve empowered all the idiots, you are entitled to act as if we are all idiots or spineless or both. It’s sad and sickening.
English

@marcwest @low_dosage Yes, and Eureka, where I am now, sources its water from the Mad River, though I’m no crazier than before 😝
English

@dan_carmell @low_dosage Tasty water rocks! FYI, Oakland comes from Pardee Reservoir feed by Mokelumne River in the Sierra Nevadas, and, if you lived in SF, you of course know that the water supply is famously from Hetch Hetchy, also from Sierra Nevada snow melt.

@Rail_splitter1 @ChrisCillizza Yes, it’s only ‘self-inflected’ if his aim was to improve the economy, not add to the destabilizing chaos.
English

@ChrisCillizza No, this isn’t a “self-inflicted” wound. He will suffer no harm. In fact, he will benefit. The more chaos and destruction he causes, the easier it will be for him to definitively destroy the rule of law and the Constitution.
English

@ovinepolitickII @armandhammr @maddenifico And business leaders. I’d subscribe if I could afford it.

In my life I have never seen a more brutal evisceration of an American president than what The Economist said about Trump and his tariffs.
IF YOU failed to spot America being “looted, pillaged, raped and plundered by nations near and far” or it being cruelly denied a “turn to prosper”, then congratulations: you have a firmer grip on reality than the president of the United States. It’s hard to know which is more unsettling: that the leader of the free world could spout complete drivel about its most successful and admired economy. Or the fact that on April 2nd, spurred on by his delusions, Donald Trump announced the biggest break in America’s trade policy in over a century—and committed the most profound, harmful and unnecessary economic error in the modern era.
English

@Final_Girl_123 @armandhammr @maddenifico I often don’t like their viewpoint, but it’s always well written and cogent. The Economist reports on issues and events worldwide very few American publications touch anymore. I’d subscribe if I could afford, and feel better informed.
English

@armandhammr @maddenifico I regularly read The Economist??!
