Ani de zile am primit de sărbători cadouri care includeau o sticlă de alcool. Așa am strâns un dulap de sticle cu care nu știu ce să fac. Dau din ele câteva pe an pe la rude si prieteni dar acasă nu am mai golit una întreagă de când am stat la palavre cu un prieten. Un digestiv din când în când, o tărie la câteva săptămâni. Și nu cred că sunt singurul, nu? Scad vânzările de vin și alcool în general mai ales în Europa, locul de unde a plecat cultura modernă a vinului sau a whisky-ului. Mă uit la filme în care personajul principal vine acasă și își pune imediat un pahar. E clar un product placement dar nici astea nu mai funcționează. M-am tot gândit de ce. Nu cred că e o atenție mai mare la sănătate. S-ar vedea și în scăderea consumului de tutun sau alte substanțe. Poate fi o problemă de preț dar nici asta nu a oprit generațiile anterioare să consume chestii suficient de ieftine. Unii prieteni îmi spun că iarba și altele sunt mai ieftine dacă vrei să te “relaxezi”. Am totuși o teorie și vreau părerea ta. Când auzim despre scăderea interesului pentru alcool printre cei mai tineri, am putea oare să traducem și cu scăderea spre dispariție a discuțiilor lungi în offline, adică alea lungi cu prietenii, acasă, fără telefoane în mână? Gândește-te puțin. Cum ții și paharul și telefonul în mână? În plus, dopamina dată de #doomscrolling e un drog mult mai puternic. Dacă nu mă crezi, caută puțin. Și totuși. Adicțiile nu cred că au dispărut. Vezi creșterea industriei jocurilor de noroc. Cred că alcoolul pierde pentru că nu rezolvă la fel de bine problema anxietății pe care ne-o cauzează viața asta plină de stress. Nu o fac nici celelalte, doar că alcoolul are câteva dezavantaje majore: 1. Să bei costă! 2. Se vede pe fața ta. 3. Mahmureala e mai nasoală decat oboseala de după “beția de ecran” #bingewatching sau #doomscrolling 4. Amenzile mari pentru alcool la volan. 5. Băutele sunt mult mai rare pentru că nu mai avem grupuri suficient de strânse ori prietenii se lovesc de punctele 1-4 dacă vin la chef. Am impresia că alcoolul a rămas o chestie pentru vacanțe și sărbători când ești cu cineva drag și a doua zi nu se întâmplă nimic urgent însă și acolo scad pentru că pur și simplu, alcoolul e un obicei social înainte să devină personal ori să creeze dependență. Încă o dată. Nu știu sigur, doar am o teorie și cred că experiențele voastre pot varia. În afară de un comentariu aș aprecia și un vot într-un sondaj. 👇

Every January 1, I write down intentions for the new year. These are the core ideas and mindsets I want to focus on for the year ahead. 5 intentions I'm setting for 2025: 1. Recognize time as the most valuable asset "We are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not ill-supplied but wasteful of it." - Seneca You may know how important your time is, yet you ignore its passage and engage in low-value activities that pull you away from the things that really matter. My first intention is to change that: Recognize time as the most valuable asset (and act accordingly). 2. Control the controllable There are a lot of things in life that are completely out of your control: • A person’s opinions or actions • Past and future events • Random "acts of god" And yet, you burn a lot of energy stressing over these things on a daily basis. My second intention centers my focus: Take action on those things within the realm of my control (and forget the rest). 3. Find joy in the small A few weeks ago, my wife and I were watching a show when she turned to me and said, "I love our little life." I smiled and agreed, but didn't think much of it until reflecting on her words later. There is so much pressure to always strive for these big, huge things. To want more. To have the glamorous, sexy, impressive moments. To have this big life. But my wife had recognized and vocalized something very important: She had paused and appreciated the beauty in the small—and, in doing so, she had encouraged me to do the same. You are told to focus on the big, but the real texture of life is found in the small. My third intention is to remember that: Slow down and find joy in the small. 4. Let go of the things that no longer serve you To become the new, you have to unbecome the old. Here are a few things I'm leaving in 2024: • People pleasing • People who drain my energy • Subtle self-sabotaging behaviors • Letting my head outsmart my gut My fourth intention is to let go: Embrace a process of unbecoming who I was to become who I want to be. 5. Go “All In” My phrase for 2025: All In. • All In on myself. • All In on my real ones. • All In on my purpose. • All In on my mental, physical, and spiritual health. • All In on my energy. My fifth intention is to keep this phrase top of mind: I'm All In. Your entire life can change in one year. Not ten. Not five. Not three. One. One year of focused, daily effort. One year of clear intentions. One year of leaving behind the things that no longer serve you. One year of going all-in.
