@Hot_Pepper76 I’ve got two:
Uriah Heep opening for Rush 1978 in Sioux City IA absolutely fantastic. They had the whole place rocking.
Mike Oldfield, Five Miles Out tour, Kassel, Germany 1982. Absolutely blew me away.

@GlowSurfing Is that the media’s way of letting us the gunman was once again Democrat?

@StratBLUF @A10TheHog What do you mean the A-10’s mission doesn’t exist anymore? As long as the US military puts troops on the ground, in harms way there will always be a need for close air support. Defeating enemy armor will always be a capability that will be needed as well.
English

@A10TheHog Those that criticize the Sky Raider II are often extremely unfamiliar with the role and capability of the aircraft. Its not designed to be an A-10, that mission doesn't exist anymore, and its has some legitimate awesome capabilities for what it was actually designed for.

@redheadranting Working for the Weekend should only be played Monday - Friday until somewhere around between 6 pm - 7:30 pm. As that is the timeframe people are indeed working for the weekend. After the cut off time, then it IS the weekend. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

One of the most uplifting rock songs of the early 70s came from a band formed after The Zombies broke up.
But did you know "Hold Your Head Up" was built around themes of confidence, perseverance, and resilience?
"Hold Your Head Up" was recorded by Argent, led by Rod Argent, the same musician behind "She’s Not There," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season."
Released in 1971, it became Argent’s biggest hit and turned into an anthem about standing tall and refusing to let the world drag you down.
Skip or listen to this one?

@Hot_Pepper76 Blue Oyster Cult, Sioux City IA around 1978. It was the opening credits cert for their tour that year. Most of the songs they played were from an as yet unreleased album. The album wasn’t going to be released for 4 more months. The worst concerts. I’ve seen BOC at least 8 times

Disclaimer: I asked the AI app to make the steering wheel a little larger... and it gave me a ship’s wheel.
Yes, that is me driving with the giant sunglasses.
No, that is not my car or my massive steering wheel.
Anyway...

@Hot_Pepper76 Mike Oldfield, Five Miles Out tour in Kassel, Germany 🇩🇪 1982. He played some songs from his upcoming album “Crises”.
Best concert I’ve ever attended… even 44 years later, no other concert has topped it.

I see this question asked a lot:
"What is the greatest concert you have ever been to?"
But here’s more to the question...
Not just the best singer or biggest show, I mean the concert that gave you chills, blew the roof off the place, or left you talking about it for years afterward.
Which concert was that for you?

English

@GlowSurfing Elmer Fudd is way better looking and much more intelligent.
English

@Hot_Pepper76 Listen… all day, every day along with anything else they’ve done.

I took these songs straight from Wikipedia, so if the rankings are wrong, you’ll have to take that up with the internet itself. ➡️w.wiki/NTex
My oldest sister had the #1 song on one of those tiny little records, scratched half to death from being played so many times, and somehow I still remember it.
Look at that 1972 chart.
Soul, soft rock, country crossover, singer-songwriters, and pure heartbreak all fighting for space on the same radio dial.
Which one still takes you back?

English

"Come Dancing" sounds cheerful until you learn the story behind it.
Ray Davies wrote the song partly for his older sister Rene, who died of a heart attack after going dancing in 1957.
Earlier that same day, she had given young Ray the Spanish guitar he had wanted for his birthday, the same gift that helped spark his future in music.
The song also looks back at the old British dance halls of the 1950s, places where people escaped everyday life for a few hours through music and dancing.
What sounds like a bright, nostalgic song is actually carrying a lot of heartbreak underneath it.
Is this one on your playlist?

@Schwalm5132 I spent my first 8 1/2 years in the Army assigned to the 11th ACR in Fulda, Germany.

This was how I started my career in the military. The Die In Place (DIP) mission. In all likelihood you're not going to make it out alive. Now go fight like you mean to make every second count.
