@quetzalcoa14 @InstantSunrise @witchof0x20 Sometimes it's better to let an IP say its piece and then stop. All the best stuff didn't overstay its welcome. Most of the games people want sequels for are games that explored what they wanted to and then stopped before they milked it too much.

@Destructor @TSoS_ That's not really comparable. Some of the reason people like certain shows is because of how the characters learn/grow as the plot advances. If they then walk back all of the big hard-hitting decisions, they lose the value they had in the first place

@TSoS_ It’s not unheard of, if your car breaks and you really liked that model, to buy the same car again.

It's incredible how nothing in the story of this character has ever mattered. Every single obstacle he overcame, every thing he lost ... Nothing matters! The child he had to let go in the show's must emotional moment came back between seasons. The droid who died to protect him and Grogu, changing his worldview in the process, was easily rebuilt. Now, The Razor Crest is back as well; not in a thematically resonant way but for toy-sales and nostalgia. The worst thing a franchise can create is apathy and it's truly sad to see a story that had started with two incredibly promising seasons go further and further down the drain.

@1up1500 @Bingus12621 @doomspoons The important part of knowing this is that they've modified it enough that the performance issues people are having can't be excused by saying "but Source 2 runs fine", because this isn't Source 2 in any way we've seen it before. They've lumped heaps of other systems onto it.

Valve wouldn't allow distribution of their engine like this if it was the same, they'd just do it themselves. It's equivalent to GoldSrc being an idTech 2 fork.

The s&box situation is horribly depressing, I had early access and yeah. Not good. Writing was on the wall years ago. I don’t get why all this dev time went to making new assets when you had the entire asset repository of RUST to make shit from that carries the similar grungy…
