So taken by how this little one steps in to comfort her crying sister. Watch carefully and you’ll see that she models behaviors that have almost certainly been used to comfort and distract her during times of sadness.
She comes in close to make eye contact. She offers a playful boop on the nose to elicit a laugh. And then closes the deal with a much-needed hug.
In all things, babies learn from the examples set by others. It’s clear that this little one has some outstanding - and emotionally intelligent - role models. I’m betting that big sister is one of them.

@burnsmk1's Partner Reading Paragraph Shrinking is for grades 2-8, but I tried it out in 1st this year...I waited until February to start. Half the class is using decodable passages. My 1st graders' class median was 37 wcpm and now, two weeks later, it's 60 wcpm. 🙌

@bethmaicanada @j_hurlbut Shadowing is, indeed, a problem. Giangreco’s work over decades reveals the harm of excessive proximity of and over reliance on paraprofessionals. The table included in his article summarizes the harm. He gives excellent guidance on alternatives in his many articles.

How can we help teachers access knowledge building curriculum and not have to build their own?
