🇪🇺 Economist Richard Werner makes a pointed argument: the EU was modeled on the Soviet Union.
The USSR had a parliament that looked democratic but couldn't initiate laws. Those came from the unelected Politburo.
The EU has the same structure: the European Parliament mostly approves and amends, while the unelected European Commission holds the monopoly on initiating legislation.
He also notes the timing. The Maastricht Treaty and the euro were rushed into existence almost immediately after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.
Werner isn't fringe. He's the economist who coined quantitative easing and predicted the 2008 financial crisis.
Agree or not, the democratic deficit argument is hard to dismiss.

There is a new lane that is forming made up of people from the right and left that are fed up with both parties because both parties have failed the average American.
The new center shares a common America First perspective and arguably could be bigger than both parties.
Americans who no longer want to fund foreign wars, want the hard earned dollars they work for to comfortably afford a good life, and want corrupt elites like the Epstein class held accountable.
These are the basic common ground issues that bring independent minded common sense Americans together.
And it’s the most refreshing thing happening, mostly among the younger generations, to organically be happening in America in a very long time after so many years of toxic political divide.
We need to lean into this.
United we stand.
Divided we fall.

Moderna has spent millions preparing for the next pandemic. Building manufacturing hubs in the UK, Australia, USA and Canada.
The only problem is they don’t have a pandemic and are operating at a net loss.
Conveniently as Dr John Campbell discovered, the WHO has classified hantavirus as a potential disease X.
In desperate need of an MRNA vaccine which of course Moderna is preparing.
Despite the fact there is little transmission and a death rate of about 1 in 34 million.
Totally ignoring HCQ/IVM as treatments.

The World Health Organization is promoting the narrative of a very long incubation period of 3 to 6 weeks for Hantavirus.
If they attempt to make it the next scamdemic, a long incubation period would give them the perfect excuse to lock people down! 🤔

A virus or some other pathogen emerges somewhere in the world.
The media shifts into apocalyptic mode.
"Experts" appear to be predicting catastrophe.
Computer models project millions dead, if the right circumstances coalesce.
Politicians declare emergencies.
Pharmaceutical companies announce new products.
Social media turns into a digital panic attack.
And ordinary people, who just wanted to buy eggs and walk the dog, suddenly feel like civilization is one cough away from collapse.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
This is how psychological bioterrorism works.
The pathogen itself matters less than the emotional payload attached to it.

Seems a lot like the early bullshit out of Wuhan.
Don’t forget, the first time they locked us down, they set us up to expect a much worse pathogen than was circulating. This time, the pathogen IS highly virulent (destructive) but it is also, at worst, barely contagious. Unless they’ve enhanced it.
None of us know. But our skepticism should be turned up to 11. Hantavirus in humans is not new, and in its natural form, it is not a pandemic risk.

People who want to blow off Hantavirus because COVID turned out to be no big deal: COVID had a fatality rate of 1%, concentrated among the elderly. Hantavirus has an incubation period of up to 8 weeks and kills 30-40% of people who show symptoms. Whole different beast. It’s not pandemic yet and probably won’t be, but if it were, the rational action would be—lockdown
