I hold a Ph.D. in theology, which is rarely something I advertise, but it's significant for this statement: C.S. Lewis's "fiction" has likely done more to open my eyes to the unseen realm than anything that might traditionally be classified as "theology." Screwtape alone has accomplished this, let alone the Ransom Trilogy.

The inability of ppl to engage any topic thoughtfully never ceases to amaze: "You have a slightly different view than me? We'll, I'll show my rational superiority with hysterical ad hominems and straw men arguments to demonstrate what an utter fool you are!"

I suppose I reluctantly agree with something like Augustine's Just War theory in extreme cases, perhaps defending invasion or defending your family. But as I've grown older and as a dad (who has lost little ones) I just see sons and daughters going off to die senseless deaths.

Why are we still using end notes? Citations should appear at bottom of page like God intended. (Academic reading is enough work without all the page-flipping).

Next week, Dr. Richard Middleton will be speaking at RIT and the University at Buffalo in a captivating conversation that delves into the question, "Why are we all flawed? A scientist and theologian discuss."

The SVP of the Air Safety institute died in a plane crash. Had an emergency on take off and didn’t make it back to the runway. This is the kind of thing to make pilots think hard about the risks. avweb.com/aviation-news/…

@torybruno @OGridPete @Space_Strategy If the lunar capable Project Apollo crew capsule only massed 5.5t for a crew of 3, then why is an 11t mass Orion crew capsule required for a crew of 4? The Orion capsule was from its conception in 2005, oversized and overweight for 4 crew lunar missions!

Anyone know why we can’t just place a crew dragon on a Falcon Heavy and send astronauts to Gateway?

The difference in consumables is a few hundred kg (Dragon is 12.5t loaded), and Dragon has enough space for a crew of 4 for that duration (cozy, but enough). So, no. Also, see Soyuz. (Lunar orbit insertion I've addressed elsewhere -- still don't need nearly Orion mass)
Tory Bruno@torybruno

@OGridPete @Space_Strategy Dragon is designed for the short trip to ISS in LEO. A lunar capable capsule like Orion must be designed to support a crew for a much longer span of time and is, consequently, much heavier.

@EarthFall10 @LCS_Big_Mike Good point. Not trying to be cantankerous--orig. question is good. But cannot think of single fixed reference point over this amount of time. Lat/long is tied to specific points on current map in combo w/ equator, which in turn is derivative of poles. EVERYTHING has moved.

What I want to know is where pangea was on the earth. Like if a geostationary satellite was over the earth then & remained in the exact same spot up to today- Where would the satellite be if it was over pangea? Over the pacific? Asia? Europe?

Wow. I genuinely have not see the Twitter bot problem be this bad before. It’s literally every 5-10 seconds a bot account is liking a tweet I either made or am mentioned in.
