AI just saved me ~4 hours of driving on my vacation
i was planning a trip to the Grand Canyon and noticed the driving route was incredibly inefficient
i spun up a few claude code agents and used agentic ai to find this faster route
it will take me just a few minutes to drive, compared to 4 hours
if anyone has contacts at the US government lmk - happy to relay this to them

A U.S. citizen was forcibly removed from her car by federal agents in Key Largo, Florida on Wednesday after she refused to present her driver's license and roll down her window when stopped, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
She was placed in a patrol vehicle while agents searched her car, located her driver's license and confirmed she was a U.S. citizen. She was then released.

I wrote zero lines of this code.
I think things are changing more rapidly than I understood.
I probably spent 30 minutes talking to Opus 4.5 about it, and now I have a fully functioning tool. And I'm making more tools every day.

@taylorotwell I think Laravel has matured enough where you don't need to use an LLM to rewrite underlying code. It would be an insult to the community. Let robots shuffle things around? You're just going to disrupt your core staff. How can AI be used for adoption of Laravel, not changing it!

A few things I've noticed as all devs write code with AI.
When you write foundational / architectural code of a new project by hand, you "feel" the code pushing back if your abstraction isn't right. You feel when something is harder than it should be. The code is telling you it's not in the right shape. Good engineers are sensitive to this.
When you're using an LLM, you keep pushing right through this in a way that feels like you're making progress, and it may even be directionally correct in a sense, but the underlying foundation of it all is actually bad in a way that either kills progress of the LLM later as it buckles under the complexity it has created or destroys your ability to maintain the code long term.
Related to this, I see a general restlessness with just sitting and thinking about a problem for a while.
As I've been working on a new library here at Laravel, there have been days where it feels like I mainly just stare at my screen thinking about something. When Claude Code is at your fingertips, it's tempting to just start yapping into the terminal and watching code come out the other end. Again, directionally correct in some ways, but often doesn't land on the elegant solution that is waiting to be discovered.

This is probably one of the best clips from Charlie Kirk, and I say that knowing that it’s very hard to choose when almost every one of his clips was so important. We don’t have anybody right now that is capable of reaching young people like he did and that’s because he was never afraid to speak the truth and he backed it up with facts and data. Sadly, that is more rare than a unicorn today. I listened to him all the time and I can tell you that I learned so much because when he would bring up a topic, I would want to go research it further, but this particular topic about why America is a Christian nation may be the most important one of his responses. In this clip, he definitively lays out while America’s a Christian nation, why the 10 Commandments are about morality and not religion, why you will never separate the word Judeo from the word Christian as it relates to our founding and why this country was founded on the Old Testament as much as the New Testament. The reason we are a free country is because we are a Christian nation.
