My info is that Newcastle did make an approach in Jan and were pushing for Rayan to wait for the summer when they had more financial headroom. Bournemouth could offer him a move now, first team football before a World Cup. Sometimes there's not a lot you can do. But he's absolutely the sort of player they have to go for this summer!

The Woltemade issue could be a big one, he was PIF’s pick and may seem a snub if he isn’t utilised.

One thing with losing faith in Woltemade is looking at other summer bids, Sesko and Stand-Larsen, there was a clear pattern in targeting a tall forward.
Based on this season #NUFC must be in the market for another and I’d be concerned if those who planned last Summer, plan this.

If Howe stays the thing I am most gutted about will be the departure of Woltemade. Poor lad has just got his head down and got on with it despite some shocking treatment from the #NUFC staff and media. Got a feeling we will regret it massively. Hope he smashes it elsewhere.

@yourboykweezy @thelonelyrobot @NUFCThreatLevel Even worse, when the ‘Woltemade experiment’ was apparently not working, he was scoring goals and we were winning football matches. Surely it must have been worth persevering with through a lean patch, as opposed to what has happened since.

Instead he’s just been shoehorned in to the existing shape, and when it’s not worked tossed aside.

Last summer criticism was the club was being too ambitious and above its station competing with likes of ‘big 6’, but if we can’t persuade those players, and these players prefer ‘stepping stones’ - where is our market?!

I know people will say this is cope, but we will always miss out on transfers like this, because unlike a Brighton or a Bournemouth, I dont think the club would agree to anything that facilitates a move to a Chelsea or an equivalent down the line. That puts players off.
