Just to be clear: Maybe people are poking fun at President Trump once again threatening “bridge and power plants day”… I am not so sure that he is bluffing here. I see no way that a simple dueling blockages strategy will produce the necessary strategic outcomes, so the only possible option is escalation.

Translation into normal English: President Trump‘s intent is to just keep throwing missiles at Iran until they capitulate and sign a surrender document according to Trump’s terms. Anyone who’s been paying attention knows that that is a 0% chance of Iran surrendering bc of a few more American missiles blow up buildings & targets in Iran. It will never, ever happen. Therefore, President Trump is taking us down the road to where he will prove Iran will not surrender by depleting our inventory of long range offensive missiles, and every round of strikes will warrant a rebound an Iranian retaliation against our assets in the region, further destroying our military infrastructure in the region. On the day he makes good on his claim here and hits Iranian energy and bridges, then Iran will light the entire region on fire, destroying GCC oil and gas facilities, crippling oil and gas production for years, plunging the world into a depression. That’s where President Trump is leading us right now.

🇮🇷 Iran has stated that SpaceX's Starlink infrastructure, owned by Elon Musk, is a legitimate military target. This was announced by a representative of the Islamic Republic's armed forces. The statement comes amid ongoing accusations from Tehran that the United States and its allies are using Starlink to coordinate activities and gather intelligence against Iran. Iranian authorities have repeatedly complained that the system is being used by protesters and military formations to circumvent state censorship. Tehran emphasized that any satellite systems that, in their view, contribute to undermining national security, can be targeted. In response to this statement, representatives from SpaceX and the Pentagon have not yet issued official comments. Last week, Elon Musk stated that Starlink is "civilian infrastructure" and should not be a target in military conflicts.

THE BARBARIANS ARE INSIDE THE GATE! We are fighting right now in Congress over whether we're going to maintain our status as a constitutional republic OR trade that in, dismantle the foundations and GO DOWN THIS DARK ROAD OF DEATH TO COMMUNISM. THAT is the question.

@RKelanic The air defence is a myth. The extraction infrastructure itself remains well within striking distance & defenceless. The only long term solution is good relations with Iran. youtube.com/live/eHLOC1UPN…

Gulf countries are finally building new export pipelines to bypass Hormuz. One reason they didn’t already is that the U.S. promise to keep Hormuz open created moral hazard. Why pay to diversify export routes if the U.S. protects Gulf shipping for free? Yes, Iran (and other actors) can attack pipelines, but the risk is dramatically less: 1.) Fixing pipelines is relatively cheap, quick and easy. Their capital value is minor compared to oil tankers that cost $100-200 million dollars. And they can be repaired in situ — they don’t need to be towed somewhere else. 2.) Attacks on pipelines don’t endanger crews — and potential loss of life has been a huge reason shippers refused to cross the strait. 3.) The environmental risks are much lower because pipelines can be shut off immediately in case of rupture (though to be fair massive oil spills are uncommon because tankers are compartmentalized and have double hulls). 4.) The pipelines would be farther from Iran and thus there’s more reaction time for air defenses to be effective. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@Acyn Iran has been preparing for this since 2003 when Iraq was invaded. They have orders of magnitude more offensive & defensive munitions than the US. It's common knowledge that the US is short of not only defensive but also stand off weapons. The smart money is on Iran.

President Trump tells Fox News he plans to hit Iranian enemy targets last, but will strike Iran’s power plants and bridges next week unless they “get to the table and negotiate.” Trump appears to be demanding that Iran compromise on its control of the Strait of Hormuz.

I don’t see any possible way the United States could even DREAM of achieving victory against Iran without taking actions that would see the entire Middle East and the global economy devastated. If ANYONE can provide a rebuttal as to how we could, I’d love to hear it, but I’ve never come across on.

TRUMP’S FOREVER WAR OPENLY DECLARED President Trump continues to behave like an imperial monarch, with no limitations on his ability to use lethal military force. Congress is not involved (because they are cowards and have neutralized themselves), the rule of law no longer has power, and no individual dares challenge the president. What he’s doing is openly engaging an open-ended war, with no objectives, just continuing to dwindle our limited missile stockpiles, in an arrogant and presumptuous display of his unchecked power. But that power will not be sufficient to obtain an outcome. All he will do is exhaust our supplies, wear out our troops, and make us truly vulnerable to a peer competitor. We are moving closer and closer to collapsing as an empire.

"We're going to hit them very hard tonight. We're going to hit them very hard tomorrow night. We're going to hit them very hard the night after, and then next week it gets really bad for them." Speaking with FOX News' @TreyYingst, President Trump warned that Iran's energy infrastructure, power plants and bridges could all become targets unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table. Asked whether he believes Iran is serious about making a deal, Trump responded: “I think they have no choice.”

The market in the Old City of Tiberias, 1925 In the years 1948-1949, after the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the city and the mass looting of their homes, the Israeli authorities destroyed the historic Old City of Tiberias almost completely. Including even the homes of the Jews. Just so that Palestinians would have nowhere to return to.

⚡️ The American targeting of Qeshm, Hengam, and Chabahar, and the activation of Bushehr defenses, extends beyond the Strait's geography. Washington is attempting to impose a material paralysis along the Iranian maritime arc to isolate Tehran from the Indian Ocean. This expansion reflects the "siege's" inability to alter the field, and shifts the confrontation to a direct test of the immunity of strategic assets.

The story is not “China has beaten SpaceX.” The story is worse for SpaceX. China has crossed the 0-to-1 threshold. And everyone who has watched Chinese industry knows what comes next: ugly prototypes, rapid iteration, domestic supply chains, brutal scaling, then price collapse. The West laughed at Chinese solar. Then it lost solar. It laughed at Chinese EVs. Then it started writing tariff walls. It laughed at Chinese NAND and SSDs. Then YMTC helped crush the price curve. It laughed at Chinese AI. Then DeepSeek turned frontier reasoning into a pricing nightmare for Silicon Valley. Now China has achieved controlled rocket recovery and is pushing aerospace firms toward IPOs. SpaceX still leads today. But the monopoly has heard the first crack. First they call it backward. Then they call it copying. Then they call it subsidized. Then they call it overcapacity — because the price has collapsed and their monopoly is dying.
