@BarackObama The Supreme Court ruled a state CANNOT USE RACE when drawing up a congressional district map….. So in essence the ruling is that States cannot be racist when drawing their congressional maps….. How is this bad?

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Seen a lot of conversation about how predatory the American medical system is. So I will weigh in. I ended up going to the ER about 2 weeks ago for crippling pain. Turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. I was there for MAYBE 4 hours. My bill? $13,500 dollars. Because I'm uninsured (by choice, that shit is a SCAM), the hospital dropped my bill down to $8,100 and some change as an "uninsured" discount. For starters, $13,500 for a 4 hour hospital visit is insane as it is. But the fact the hospital can wipe $5,000 off the bill "just because" should show you how utterly fucked this system is. And to be clear - $8,000 is still an absolutely insane sum of money when all these people did was scan my stomach and give me some pain killers. On my itemized bill, my CT scan was 7k. The iodine they used was $900. Just being in the ER room alone was $2,500. We phoned the hospital to haggle. They dropped the price by $20. Normal people can't survive this shit. I do okay and $8,000 is still an INSANE chunk of money out of my savings. Anyone who argues this isn't a disgusting, predatory system is crazy. And it is even crazier that Americans accept this. And for those of you who argue this is the free market, I need you to be quiet. There can never be a true free market here when government and insurance have their creepy little fingers in this pie. People shouldn't go bankrupt trying to pay medical bills. This has to change.

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up: childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

SHOCKING CLASH: Donald Trump CALLS POPE LEO XIV “AN INSULT TO JESUS” — THE POPE’S RESPONSE STUNS THE WORLD Donald Trump believed he could score easy political points by calling Pope Leo XIV “an insult to Jesus,” after the spiritual leader once again spoke out in defense of peace, compassion, and human dignity. However, he was challenging a voice rooted not in politics, but in moral authority. Standing before a solemn gathering at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV did not respond with anger. Instead, he delivered a powerful and deeply moving message grounded in faith, responsibility, and truth. “The President of the United States has said that I insult Jesus,” Pope Leo XIV began, his voice calm yet firm. “But let us reflect honestly — what truly insults the teachings of Christ?” Then, with quiet intensity, he answered: “You want to know what truly insults Jesus? It is when we turn away from those who suffer, when we close our hearts to the poor, and when we choose power over compassion while others cry out for mercy.” He continued: “You know what insults Jesus? It is forgetting the dignity of every human being, ignoring the pain of families in crisis, and refusing to hear the voices of the most vulnerable among us.” His message then deepened, becoming not just a response, but a moral call that reached far beyond the moment: “You know what insults Jesus? It is creating division where there should be unity, spreading fear where there should be hope, and turning away from justice when we have the responsibility to uphold it.” This was not merely a political rebuttal — it was something far more profound. Pope Leo XIV, known for his humility and steadfast commitment to peace, transformed the confrontation into a reflection on conscience rather than conflict. Instead of escalating tensions, he elevated the conversation to a universal moral level. “I do not claim to be perfect,” he admitted. “But I strive each day to walk the path of compassion — to serve, to listen, and to love as we are all called to do.” Then came the line that resonated far beyond the walls of the Vatican: “If we truly believe in a world shaped by peace and mercy… then why do we not work harder to bring that reality into our lives — here and now, for one another?” That was his response. Not with anger. Not with division. But with conviction — and grace. Trump sought to challenge him. Instead, Pope Leo XIV delivered a message now echoing across millions, reminding the world that true strength is found not in power alone, but in conscience, humility, and love.

I stopped yelling at my kids for a week. Here’s what I noticed: we were late to school every single day they didn’t clean up a single thing they didn’t shower they didn’t do their homework they looked homeless I tried gentle parenting. They responded like tiny union workers on strike. Turns out my “yelling” was really just the family notification system.

I once read that men barely get compliments... so I thought I’d try being kind in a harmless way. At a bookstore, I told a guy, “Hey, that book you picked is really good, you’ve got great taste.” He lit up instantly, smiled way too long, and started walking beside me… asking what I was doing, where I was going, if we could grab coffee. I kept it polite at first, then shorter, then silent.. but he didn’t take the hint. I had to pretend to get a phone call and rush out, leaving my own shopping behind. It wasn’t a compliment anymore. It felt like an invitation I never sent. Yeah… there’s a reason we hesitate.

Perhaps Trump would have done this regardless, but let’s not forget Biden created this pre-emptive pardon precedent. The only good news that might come out of this pardon corruption: we will get a bipartisan supported Constitutional amendment to create a Congressional nullification process for all presidential pardons.

Taking my mom to the ER bc she’s not feeling well, I get pulled over by a cop and he said I wasn’t insured. I show him proof that im actually insured and he says “I’m not sure why my system is saying that” and he asks me where I’m going and I tell him my mom isn’t feeling well I’m taking her to the ER. He said he’s gonna let me go with a warning, a warning for what??? I showed him I’m insured I have my digital and physical card. So he lets me go and as I’m parking at the hospital and bringing my mom inside I see him parking a few spaces from me and hes just watching me.

BREAKING: King Trump now wants the American people to fund his $15 million monument to HIMSELF that will desecrate the hallowed Arlington National Cemetery! For the first time, the Trump administration admits it will seek funding from the from the National Endowment for the Humanities to build his own personal Arc de Trump in Washington D.C., asking for $2 million straight up plus $13 million in matching grants. During Monday’s Easter Egg roll, with the country on the brink over the illegal Iran war, Trump was carrying around printed renderings of “his” imperial tower. And as we reported, a day earlier instead of attending Easter services, he took a drive and slowed his motorcade to admire the spot near Arlington National Cemetery where the monolith will screw up traffic and block the flight path to Reagan airport. Vietnam veterans are already suing to stop this atrocious and historically offending ego trip, rightly saying it desecrates hallowed ground meant to honor their sacrifices. This is on top of Trump paving over the Rose Garden, and bulldozing the historic East Wing (and Melania’s office!) to make room for his also atrocious and historically offending ballroom. But one abhorrence at a time. At the end of the day, we know that this is the part of Trump’s “let’s play president” game he likes most. That war thing stressed him out, and people said mean things about him, so let’s not do that one anymore. I know, let's build stuff so I will be remembered eternally! So, amid the deadly fallout from his illegal war in Iran and skyrocketing costs at the pump, Trump is quietly trying to funnel $15 million from the National Endowment for the Humanities into his vanity project. Meanwhile, the rest of us are still struggling to sort out how much real damage this Iran war has done -- to the region, to the global economy, and to the perception of the United States as the new bully on the block. Taxpayer money should honor our history and our fallen heroes not fund Donald Trump’s narcissistic building spree. The National Endowment for the Humanities is supposed to provide grants to museums, libraries, archives, colleges, universities, public TV and radio, not this “I’m an Emperor” wank of Trump’s. Please like and share.

BREAKING: Pete Hegeth's Pentagon SPITS on Catholic soldiers on Good Friday by hosting a Protestants-only chapel service with the message "No Catholic Mass." This is absolutely jaw-dropping.... According to HuffPost's Jennifer Bendery, the Defense Department has invited over 3,500 employees to a Good Friday service at the Pentagon Chapel "except it’s only for Protestants, not Catholics." She obtained an email sent out by Air Force leadership, which laid out the outrageous abuse of religious liberty in plain text. “Just a friendly reminder: There will be a Protestant Service (No Catholic Mass) for Good Friday today at the Pentagon Chapel,” it reads. “I guess so the Catholics know their kind ain’t welcome. It’s so ridiculous," a Pentagon employee told her. When Bendery reached out to the Pentagon, a spokesperson confirmed that there will not be another, separate service for Catholics in the Pentagon chapel today. This one isn't hard to puzzle out. The Christian Nationalist movement that Hegseth is part of is Evangelical to its core. They view Catholics with something between suspicion and outright hostility. Hegseth previously invited pastor Doug Wilson to lead a prayer service at the Pentagon. Wilson has called for a Christian theocracy in America, suggested that "biblical slavery" might come back under that theocracy, and called for banning Catholic processions. In this Evangelical vision of a Christian America, Catholic cathedrals are torn down and replaced with golden statues of Trump holding the cross. This animosity towards Catholics is also rooted in backlash against Pope Leo XIV's outspoken anti-MAGA sentiments. He has repeatedly condemned the cruel treatment of migrants as well as Trump's illegal, bloody Iran War. Many Republicans now view Leo and by extension all Catholics as an enemy. We stand with Leo and our Catholic soldiers, do you? Please ❤️ and share to demand that Catholics be treated fairly in the military!
