When I still lived in Rogers Park, and needed to clear my head, a walk along Loyola Beach was free therapy.

Insane how many libs are criticizing “invading the privacy” of a teenager by checking her phone at night. How are there people who still think this way? If you’re not doing everything possible to protect your child from unfettered access to the internet, you’re doing a bad job as a parent. This is so obvious

Last night, after she’d gone to bed, my 16 y/o daughter receives a text from a friend. (We keep electronics in our room at night). I know my daughter isn’t gonna see it for a while and I know the answer to the girl’s dance-class-related question. So I just pick up the phone and answer it really quick as if I’m my daughter and leave it at that. Tonight, I see her giggling over her phone. I ask what’s up. Apparently, the other girl’s mother had just wanted to get an answer to the question really quick, so she picked up HER daughter’s phone and texted mine as if she were her daughter. (basically both of us were too lazy to go through the rigmarole of explaining, “hi, this is Mrs. So-and-so, and here’s why I’m texting you on your friend’s phone…” But the funny part was how the two girls figured this out. Because the first one was so appalled at seeing her mother‘s perfectly punctuated and capitalized sentences, that she felt she needed to come clean that it was her mom lest my daughter think she is that conscientious. And my daughter, likewise, didn’t want her friend to think that SHE uses correct grammar when texting either. So what I learned today is that it is apparently humiliating to be caught correctly formulating sentences via text.

@conservmillen I monitored our kids’ phones and all of our devices had monitoring software on them. I could review every click if I wanted to. Some of my friends were appalled. I couldn’t give two shits.

Who do you trust
Why you hesitated
If it was easy to comply
If you’d take it in the future
This isn’t about health.
This is about mapping behaviour before the next rollout.

Senator Moreno (R-OH) just tried to pass a bill funding DHS (all of it) for 2 weeks to allow workers to get back pay now and fund the agency while negotiations continue. Sen Slotkin (D-MI) objected.
THEN... Sen Slotkin (D-MI) tried to pass a bill to just fund TSA and pay TSA workers. Sen Moreno objected.

California told El Cajon police that conducting a welfare check on an unaccompanied child could violate state law -- because it might lead to sharing information with federal authorities.
Think about that. A child who may have been trafficked or abandoned. And the state says checking on them is the problem.
Earlier this week, I sent a formal letter to AG Bonta demanding a real answer: Do California's sanctuary laws conflict with federal law that makes it a felony to encourage someone to remain in the country illegally?

Every time I read something like this, I lose faith in humanity.
This isn’t just negligence, it’s dehumanization.
These are vulnerable people with dementia being chemically restrained and mislabeled to make it easier on the system.
It’s disturbing, it’s wrong, and it should outrage everyone.
There has to be accountability for this.
