Is there anything worse than a crying baby on a plane? I wish parents would control their children. It’s so disruptive. I refuse to believe a baby cries for 10 hours. At some point this is just bad parenting, right?

@eigenrobot @uckema You could in theory make jet fuel at sea. You got carbon dissolved in the water, and plenty of hydrogen. Just need a shitload of electricity…..

really impressive thing about USN nuclear carriers is that they have desalination plants and carry trawling nets so that they can operate at sea basically indefinitely

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
This week, Anthropic delivered a master class in arrogance and betrayal as well as a textbook case of how not to do business with the United States Government or the Pentagon. Our position has never wavered and will never waver: the Department of War must have full, unrestricted access to Anthropic’s models for every LAWFUL purpose in defense of the Republic. Instead, @AnthropicAI and its CEO @DarioAmodei, have chosen duplicity. Cloaked in the sanctimonious rhetoric of “effective altruism,” they have attempted to strong-arm the United States military into submission - a cowardly act of corporate virtue-signaling that places Silicon Valley ideology above American lives. The Terms of Service of Anthropic’s defective altruism will never outweigh the safety, the readiness, or the lives of American troops on the battlefield. Their true objective is unmistakable: to seize veto power over the operational decisions of the United States military. That is unacceptable. As President Trump stated on Truth Social, the Commander-in-Chief and the American people alone will determine the destiny of our armed forces, not unelected tech executives. Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces and the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered. In conjunction with the President's directive for the Federal Government to cease all use of Anthropic's technology, I am directing the Department of War to designate Anthropic a Supply-Chain Risk to National Security. Effective immediately, no contractor, supplier, or partner that does business with the United States military may conduct any commercial activity with Anthropic. Anthropic will continue to provide the Department of War its services for a period of no more than six months to allow for a seamless transition to a better and more patriotic service. America’s warfighters will never be held hostage by the ideological whims of Big Tech. This decision is final.

@Noahpinion It’s hard because we gravitate towards different ones depending on price point. Like I’ve never had Indian or Chinese food as good as really elevated Japanese food. But I’ve never had really high end Indian food. For a $15 lunch it’s hard to top Indian and Thai. (In the US)

@itsdeaann @clashreport 315 is totally possible with his build. You don’t need a freak body to bench 315 at 6’.

@clashreport I'm not saying this because of my political affiliation, but that's clearly not 315lbs. Not only would that kind of weight be nearly impossible for someone with his build, but it also wouldn't bounce like that on the rack.

@KingZahyd @TheButcher2020 @trouble_man90 Whip is a function of acceleration as much as weight. He didn’t jerk it around. Hegseth benching 315 is nowhere near crazy enough for me to suspect mischief here.

@TheButcher2020 @trouble_man90 Physics works the same in Africa as it does everywhere else. That bar is still stiff and those plates are still fake. And Africa is great. Now explain why that "315 lbs" has zero whip.

@asymmetricinfo Life expectancy has not really changed in the past 30 years - and whatever small improvements there have been can be attributed to declining murders and car accident rates. Medical "advancements" haven't added a day to life expectancy in the past 3 decqdes.

Ambasador Tom Rose
Ambasador Tom Rose@USAmbPoland·
Dear Mr. Prime Minister — I’m assuming your thoughtful and well-articulated message was sent to me by mistake, because surely you intended it for the Speaker of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, who’s despicable, disrespectful and insulting comments about President Trump @POTUS were so potentially damaging to your government. Mr. Prime Minister, I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for your lifetime of bold leadership and for your decades of contributions that strengthened the U.S.–Poland relationship. You Sir have truly been a model ally and great friend of the United States. And I know you agree that insulting and degrading the @realDonaldTrump President of the United States— the greatest friend Poland has ever had in the White House, is the last thing any Polish leader should do. As I’m sure you also know, I will always defend my President without hesitation, exception or apology.
Donald Tusk@donaldtusk

Mr.Ambassador Rose, allies should respect, not lecture, each other. At least this is how we, here in Poland, understand partnership. Panie Ambasadorze Rose, sojusznicy powinni się szanować, a nie pouczać. Przynajmniej tak w Polsce rozumiemy partnerstwo.

I am so SICK AND TIRED of "Vote for me because I'm a veteran." Look, the military is just like regular society. There are good guys and bad guys, and many times the bad guys make flag rank. Your status as a veteran does not automatically make you correct on public policy issues, and it does not automatically place you beyond reproach or criticism. I say this as a veteran who is sick and tired of this crap. Hey RADM Liebacker!! Stop hiding behind your ex-rank and run on a valid platform.
Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher@EileenforCO

When I joined the Navy, I took an oath. Marines, Airmen, Soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and thousands of other public servants take similar oaths. The difference between how we uphold that oath and ICE officers? We serve with our faces unmasked, because we're not afraid of who we're serving and how we're doing it.

@RichardHanania @JoelWBerry I feel no need to distinguish between a leftist, a Marxist/communist, socialist, or a radicalized lib who acts as a color revolutionary for the democrat party. They may all have different goals, but if they’re behaving like Pretti, then they’re functionally the same.
